so hood opens again on the 30th, and I was wondering if its worth it to make the trip from seattle for a weekend. seems to me like palmer would be a bit shitty conditions-wise as it hasn't snowed there in a good 5 months. so whats it like early october?

usually this time of year, not much snow and usually only ride the upper half of palmer, and just natural features, they may put a rail in or too, not 100% sure on that.

its worth it if you just want to mess around and do some downhill jibbing and just to get back on your skis.

here are my pictures of the park, last year on oct.3

will be there this weekend with friends.

hmm i'm feenin for snow but i'm not sure the few features will be there will be worth the trip. I might wait a month or so until they get some fresh. anyone know how long it takes for all of palmer to open? or will they just wait until theres enough snow on m. mile and open it up?

usually if palmer starts to get enough snow the weather is too bad to ride up there and it is closed. Palmer is closed majority of the winter due to weather conditions/wind/white out/ etc. But as of now all of palmer could still be open, know a couple guys riding at the windells features up there now i can ask and find out snow wise up there. Ill get back ASAP

Im in the same spot as all the Washington kids, anyone know what features are up, or will be up in the next couple weekends?

it has been 1 slight up-box, 1 down urban, 1 flatbox and a jump every weekend so far. This saturday the jump was taken down into roller form though

Coming up this saturday. Anyone know what conditions/park setup will be like? First trip to hood

i went yesterday 11/6 and it was really really good snow in the morning and then straigh ice around noonish. Park (if that) was 2 jumps (pretty big) and a flatbox
