Symmetrical ski mount point

I just bought a symmetrical ski (Faction Studio 1) and noticed the recommended mount point is still -2 or -2.5 cm from true center. I thought symmetrical skis were supposed to be center mounted. Should I still center mount or go with manufacturer recommended? I usually do recommended but in this case i just wanna double check since I’ve always seen these center mounted. Will be using these for park only

nvm I just realized the newschooler line is literally 1.5cm ahead of true center (more tail than tip) so this is obviously a printing error on the top sheet. gonna have to contact faction to see what the exact mount point is supposed to be

Twin tip doesn't mean symmetrical. Very few skis are actually completely symmetrical, and very few skis reccomend a true center mount point. If you want center mount just measure to the center, any shop should do that for you regardless

Had to double check but Faction really claims that they have symmetrical sidecut and rocker/camber profile. I haven't seen true symmetrical ski since og afterbangs, so kinda weird if it's true

There are still some symmetrical skis on the market (vishnu wet + wides, jets are other examples). You can and probably should still mount them 1.5cm back though

Why 1.5 still on a symmetrical ski?

I've heard that mounting center means puts your weight in front of center if you're skiing with good form.
