Switching over (to skiing)

ive snowboarded for 10 years now, and its fun and all, but i want to start skiing too. i just want to get a decent set up wth some twin tips that i can take in the powder and i can work with for park (dont have to be great for park)

so basically im sick of unstrapping for back country hikes

any boot-binding-ski combo advice is appreciated
 
if your budget is that low, id hit up ebay or keep an eye out on tramdock or steepncheap or rethink your budget if you want a complete setup. for powder/backcountry stuff, i wouldnt reccommend steppin into a pair of gigantic k2 pontoons or anything like that. look for skis with an underfoot of over uhh lets say (give or take) 85 if you still want that kind of all around all mountain feel. skis come in completely different sizes, stiffnesses, shapes everything so what you like might be something completely different than what other people like. so try out your friends skis or demo some stuff before you buy it because buying a whole set of new equipment is a decently large investment. then you can go online or something and find deals on specific things youre looking for. the type of pole you get doesnt matter. boots again come in different stiffnesses so depending on how strong you are or how much effort you want to put into every turn, a softer boot will be a better choice for someone starting off. stiffer is leaning more towards the racing, high performance world. park boots are usually on the softer side. godspeed.
 
go look at the buy sell trade on here. also I liked R.E.I and evogear but thats just me.

i'd look at line blends, or the line sir francis bacons

both are wider skis that will be good in back country, and both are nimble enough for park

You can get poles for free most of the time if you go to your local mountains lost and found.
 
any ski designed fully or in part by Pollard would be good, he tries to get the surfy feel of a board in his skis so i think that would make it a good transitional ski
 
i would look around for a pair of last years anthems, which should be around $300, and see if u can get a decent pair of bindings from last year for $100 and then steel some poles from the rental store and ur all set
