So, here's the deal: we have a 2001 saab 9-5 wagon (3.0 litre v6 turbo), and the tranny (auto) just went out, and we need a complete new one.

Sooooo, I'm wonderin if it is possible to put in a manual trans. So can you just put in the trans, a clutch, and a shift lever, and connect that shit and be good to go? Or is there some other wierd other shit you have to do that would make it impossible.

Cuz i would be waaay stoked to have a stickshift, so just wonderin if this can happen....?

i think itd be way easier too just buy a manual car. i think the gearbox thingy might be somewhere else on an automatic car anyways so you wouldnt be able to put the stick shift in the right place

yes, it is possible, a ton of work, yes, but it is possible, if i were you i would just stick with the auto. itll cost too much to change it, cuz itll be a different tranny, so u might have to buy or fabricate new mounting brackets, possibly, the way the tranny mounts to the motor, the computor would be buggered, i dont know your car specifically, but theres just alot of shit, stick with the auto, unless u have mad $ then go for it bro

alright thanks for the input guys i think we'll stick with an auto and maybe try to get one with a plus minus tiptronic/sportshift kinda thing :D
