Switch training

ok so i was bored when i was longboarding and decided i would do the hill standing completly backwards. I had my feet parralell, but kind of staggered. After a couple of times i started to carve. I am totally crazy or do you think that in the long run doing this could make skiing switch more comfortable?

your feet where side by side?

like:

or like

./\

where 0 = foot

i'm tryin that tomorrow.

wait, i kinda already do that, as a joke I do my regular speed tuck, but face backwards. looks rediculous

hmmm...it seems like it would help your balance for sure, but i'm not sure if it would feel anything like riding switch. i'll give it a try

if u get better at it u might be able to switch up your feet every turn so it would be even more like skiing

The stance for skiing and snowboarding (even skateborading to some extent as well as wake borading and surfing) is tthe same!

If you look at a picture of a good snowboarder turning/carving and a skier at the same point of a turn their bodies and feet are in the same alignment and angles

The problem on a longboard is that you cannot lead change between feet, unless you a fucking crazy and plan on swictching your lead foot in the transition between turns.

If you are following what I am saying, what you want to do would work only for turning in one direction...or one huge turn. Once you transiton to the next turn your feet would be the opposite of what they should be...

ENOUGH SKI GEEK TALK

GOODNIGHT

haha i prolly am crazy,

i am the same kid who tried do a630 on to a moving longboard..

i almost made it but was leaned WAY to far back and i racked my ass preetty bad

Wow definitely trying that tomorrow. Thanks for giving me a great idea, I'm gonna look goofy as hell in the parking lot tomorrow.

i think that it would only build your confidence becsue alot of it has to do with the independant skis its self. But its cant hurt to do it, plus if u did i decent hill like that i would give props
