Switch to skiing?

I'm a snowboarder.. My parents want me to stop or switch because I keep breaking wrists. I was thinking about switching to skiing. I can ski, I've skied since I could walk. I'm 15, 5'5" and about 110 pounds. Would you recommend a setup? Do you need to know anything more?

Do what you want, not what your parents want. That being said if you do start skiing take the time to learn to ski the whole mountain comfortably before you go in the park.

I can ski the whole mountain fine hahah. I ski from time to time still. I'm just thinking about what I should get if I do decide to ski.

Stop falling with your hands out man, but anyways do what you want I boarded since I was 6 and am officially making the switch now

I don't fall with my hands out anymore Hahahah. This year I was wearing wrist guards and everything... Dragged it as I landed and it dislocated and broke in the process..

switching to skiing wont necessarily prevent injury. but your best bet here is to go to a shop and have them give you recommendations based on your height/weight/ability. especially for boots.

Watch Line Traveling Circus episodes it will change your life. you will realize that you are limited on a snowboard. Just find some used park skis or anything cheap. Make sure you get nice comfortable boots tho, don't cheap out on them

If you shred hard, and do alot of urban, get ON3P filthy riches. We also need to know your budget, if there is one. Rossignol fks are good. I would wait till the fall and all the new skis come out. Tell your parents your for sure switching next season and u want to finish this season as a snowboarder. Unless you ski/board in the summer. Even then though, waiting till the new Line/Armada/K2/ etc... Come out will be better. And go to a boot fitter, dont go cheap on boots. Full Tilts are GREAT if they fit you. Salomon SPK aswell. Goodluck

no cutting budgetboots- dalbello bosses (like sex for your feet)

skis- armada ar7's (ride so damn well) or on3p filthy riches are pretty nice too.

bindings- marker griffons are preffered for me.

cutting budget

boots- full tilts, or spks are both pretty nice if you has chubs for feet then spks.

skis- line masterminds, or LTC skis.

bindings- whatever works for you.

i had rossis for awhile they dont even last a year for me the walls keep breaking, and spks are good (personally i dont like the way they feel on my shins, but the feet feel good anyway)

Buy whatever's cheap. Except for boots. You don't need to drop tons of money on a setup you don't need.

I just switched to skiing this year, I would say just go out and get some used skis and boots, or some that might not be this years model, it'll be a lot cheaper

Jesus Fuck you get hurt a lot. Are you incredibly brittle or are you reckless? I have been skiing for 22 years, DH for a few years and climb for 7 and never had an injury. How can you rack that up so fast?

Mouth guards are not meant for oral sex. And I would reconsider, since you are extremely accident prone. Teeth don't grow back, and dental is expensive.

Just do it Dante message me and I'll tell u what to buy.

P.s. u know u want to don't let Dan trick u

not really... dalbellos are 600, armadas are 550, and markers are 400? i think.

full tilts are cheap 300-450 depends on where you buy, masterminds are roughly 400, and its easy to find cheap bindings.
