switch take off with non twins

as some of you know.. i dont really care for small skis. since nobody really makes a 195+ twintip, i decieded to take newschool manuvers to the oldschool skis. rails and switch landings wont be a problem, im sure, but switch take offs seem like they would be iffy. ive never tried a switch take off on straight non twins. have YOU?

i havent, but i heard of someone who tried, and got anal raped by his strait ski.

actually switch take offs are easier than switch landings as long as your takeoff is well groomed.....if you're leaned back on your skis at all landing switch on non-twins you can get yourself fuckered up

true, i had a pair of Snowrangers, that rode so smooth switch, as long as it;s hard packed, there really isn't much difference,

I learned 180's and switch 180's on flatbacks the only time ive ever stuck in going backwards is skiing backwards down this big hump of snow that the snowblowers made i stuck in and it whippped me back so damn hard

The Olson twins are Michelle you sick little baby fuckers.

i don't know if it is even possible, but if you do, DEFINITELY do not lean back the slightest bit!

i was on a pair of nontwins riding away switch fast from a rail, relaxed my stance, and got FUCKED...so really, be careful...i myself would not try it

homemade twintips. make a shovel outta something and then tape it on.

when i work i might end up skiing as much as 50% of a lesson switch on non-twins and generally never have a problem. course have had those great wipeouts where you end up on your back and you have no clue why. but i feel like if the jump isn't too steep or have a huge lip you should be fine.

if u asses wouldnt ride those fag ass things, u would never have to worry about it, they have never made a snowboard that wasnt twintipped. snowboarding is where ski manufacturers got the idea for twin tip skis. so u posers can go ahead and try to mimick boarding. u fags are even trying to stand like us now. and u fuckin call it monkey steez or some gay ass term. create your own sport. dont copy someone elses

im just going to assume that is some NS member being funny. the reason I'm going to assume this is because I cant bring myself to imagine someone saying something so stupid...now, be careful what we say..

They make many snobehs that arent twin tipped. Ski manufacturers got the ide for twin tips when skiers like jp auclair started doing switch landings. Monkey steez is a type of style, not freestyle skiing. Now how bout everyone messages this snowbeh and tells im to get a life.

PLEATH! SNOWBEH! NO!!!

i learned 180's and rails on a pair of 192's or something. it is not that hard, just dont hit piles of snow. in the icy midwest, powder isnt a problem.

Yeah i learned 180s and shitty switch 180s on flatbacks. But it had more factors to deal with...kinda annoying.

can you see what's down there? me either.-seth peering down a cliff before he drops it

Twin tips already existed when the first snowboarders were actually using surfs (the ones built for water waves !) to go down hills !!!

Mommy >>> If you just put your bindings upside down you can ski switch as well as with any other twin tip !!! ;)

Why don't you get Seth Pistols ? They're not quite as long (189) but they've got nice twin tips !

Well having tried a lot of switch shit on old skis, I can say landing switch is pretty easy except when the landing is soft, but switch takeoffs are super hard even on the best groomed jumps. I have only gotten a couple clean switch take offs. 95% of the time the turn into switch half back flips, which suck.
