`Well the other day i was enjoying a meal with a snowboarder i dont talk to frequently and skiing swithc happened to come into the conversation and the kid remarked "but skiing switch is just skiing backwards snowboarding actually takes technique to go switch" People that underestimate the technicality of skiing swithc piss me off

i dont have a signature

why are you still reading i said i dont have a signature

I snowboarded and skied for one season. Skiing is very technical to do switch if you are doing it well. Snowboarding switch is simple shit compared to skiing switch.

Snowboarding forwards and backwards is the same, essentially.

i hate it when your rippin switch and snowboarders are like "your going the wrong way" i hate it that happened to me in whis in the park under the chair

I GOT A NEW ACL!!!

I LIKE K2

youd be surprised. Sure skiing swich is hard at first, but once you get used to it its real simple.

I used to snowboard. I thouhgt it was way hard. but i dunno, its peoples preferences and opinions.

I think skiing switch is easier than boradering switch.

And dont say boarding is easier till you actually go out and board.

i can never get lined up with anything when im skiing switch. so i think snowboarding switch would be easier but i have no idea since ive never snowboarded

*NS SKATEBOARDERS*

yea skiing switch does get pretty easy after practice but still isnt compareable to how much easier snowboarding is switch

i think the snowboarders are just threatened because skiing is progressing more so they make up bullshit comments like that

if skateboarding feels anyway similar to snowboarding switch, then skiing is def. harder switch.

Take me to your special place

Close your eyes, show me your face.....I'm gonna piss on it

actually never mind because i just realized it is fakie when im skating thats easier

Take me to your special place

Close your eyes, show me your face.....I'm gonna piss on it

OK here is how i put it in my editorial in my school newspaper. Snowboarding switch you are going the other sideways and skiing switch you are actually going backwards. snowboarding you do the exact same thing going switch skiing its a WHOLE new experience, its not like spinning unatty or sliding a rail unatty its totally different than anything on skis.

your vision is actaully obstructed while skiing switch... its obviously harder, its not just abuot feet placement

So long fried rice, hello fried chicken!

ive tried boarding

1. it sucks all together

2. doing boarding switch is as easy or just a little harder than regular

3. skiing is mad hard because your blind, and its completly backwards not just to the other side

skiing switch and hitting jumps/landing switch is harder from a visual sence, and it is extremely noticable if you actually know how to snowboard,

eitherway skiing switch is way more badass.

actually bording switch is really tough. its like skateboarding switch, so much harder to do anything, let alone hit jumps.

to be honest i think its pretty much even, yeah youre not blind riding snowboard switch, but its alot harder then it looks

If hate were people, I'd be China.

skiing swich is way harder than boarding switch, besides it looks way cooler. pretty much any trick on skis looks way better than the same trick ona board

I did snowboard, and snowboarding switch is way easier. It is not that much harder to get used to at all, but i suppose it is personal.

same here, i snowboarded one day and i was hitting rails and boxes, it was easy as shit.

gangsta raps lyrics are all the same, Someone gets shot, someones frontin, someones a wangsta, someones benchpressin, someones makin fried chicken, and the beans dont burn on the grill. You can see that shit in kentucky. Fuck the bronx, deep south bitches-scientist

All i have to say is... skiing switch gets you mad bitches. Girls can't tell when a snowboarder is switch... well cause it looks the same. When i ski switch, the bitches are definitely impressed. they'll say stuff like, "do you ski like that a lot?" or "wow you go off jumps like that too?" Then if they're not good skiers you can give them a few pointers.

Switch is good.

goin switch on a board is so easy, i dont even snowboard and i can like go down the hill both ways, not a boarder couldnt do that on skis if he never skied b4

Out of the bunch of snowboarders I ride with, every single one says that riding switch is almost as easy as riding forwards.

It's just hitting jumps and rails that it's harder because of the whole popping and ollieing thing.

run backwards really fast and u will fall over. now suffel switch and u could go for hours so it pretty much easy to tell that skiing switch is harder b/c u dont have your eye site

will summer ever end it seems to get longer and longer every year

You're all talking about the vision. but the hard thing about snowboarding switch is that your leading foot is weak since you're used to a certain stance. I've snowboarder one season. Skiing switch is way harder, that's true, but I thought you should all think about the stance being a difficulty, not the vision.

And what's with all the "skiing vs. snowboarding" topics here...those are two different sports separated by snow..

skip school go ski!

No, the people I'm talking about mean switch carving, and riding in general. And not just down little green runs, pretty much all over. Just not like steeps and powder.

Snowboarding switch, you make your right leg do what the left one did when riding regular, and vice versa for the left leg.

Skiiing switch, you have to teach your legs to do something entirely different than riding regular. Plus the vision obstruction problem.

Yah skiing switch is backward, thats what makes it more difficult. Snowboard switch is just a different foot forward with a lean and stance they're not as used to, and maybe a few cm's shorter on the tail. Skiing switch has the same things, but straight backward, blind, with all sorts of over the shoulder looks that make it real hard to line up if you're just the average joe park guy.

Skiing switch in the BC. Backward down some big line of landing backward of a huge cliff, OR different body rotation and foot forward.

You be the judge.

Stay Classy Newschoolers

with out a question skiing switch is way more hard than ridiing facing forward, exept for your board is facing the opposite way...big woop

Skiing in NC aint so bad

I hate it when snowboarders think they are so cool because they can 50 50 a rail

for snowboarding it just a backward feeling but for us it actually is backwards.

Yeah guys, switch skiing is really. I can ski switch just about as well as I ski forwards, through powder and everything... well, almost as good.

What I'm saying is, skiing switch is really easy.

Snowboarding switch, from personal experience, is alot harder. Probably for me because I can't do anything opposite. I can't use my left hand for drawing or my left leg for kicking. It's just really hard for me. So snowboarding switch took me like a year to learn it decently.

The fact that you're skiing switch "blind" doesn't really make it any harder at all. But snowboarding switch you gotta do everything opposite and damn it's fucking hard.... ya know

And your vision isn't obstructed at all skiing switch if you learn how to manouver your head comfortably. You guys are retarded.

It might just be me though, because my whole left side is disable basicaly haha.

^^ homeboys correct

if you have a good lead change and switch which shoulder your looking over in between each turn you dont have the blind spots your all bitching about...

i love early morning groomer and laying down deep railroad tracks switch....confuses the hell outta most folk and in my vast experience I have not seen many "pros" who can link turns switch....its the whole monkey style, if you cant ski going fowards you sure as hell cant ski going swutch....oh no! but you say tanner hit chads switch.....whoopppeee....ive seen the kid ski backwards down trails and it is ugly to watch...

I both ski and snowboard and i have tried skiing switch both ways. Skiing is much harder cuz its like regular skiing but you cant see where your going. Snowboarding you are just facing the other way across the hill

the whole thing about snowboarding switch vs sking switch, to link turns switch you have to remember to be in the back seat, unweighting is a totally different manouvre, we face bigger stance changes than boarders do because in order to be able to have any control whilst going switch you have to do what youve been trying to stop yourself from doing since your second day on skis-get way backseat

skiing normal:

/ -> head

| -> direction of travel

_/__->ski tip

skiing switch:

head direction of travel

ski tip

as long as you dont have some whack stance, its really really easy on a snowboard
