Switch rodeo, do you throw it like a misty but switch or like a regular rodeo?

Me and my brother are having an argument about switch rodeo's. He insists that you set the trick backwards, while I am telling him that you throw it more like a misty but switch. just to clarify i wold love input.

Because you are traveling backwards, the trick is set the opposite (misty) because it mirrors the trick to if you were travelling forward. Does that make sense?

Yes, you set it like a misty, and yes, you are correct.

whether you are doing a simple backflip forwards or switch you use your head to look behind you. your feet come over in front of you. so doing a switch rodeo you would throw it like you would if you were going forward.

I think you might have just articulated that poorly. A switch rodeo is set inwards so like a forward misty. forward misty = switch rodeo

Switch misty = Forward Rodeo (kinda)

Yeah man, trying to wrap my head around this one. Would you not end up doing some kind of weird underflip? I'm not sure about that though. haha

switch cork and switch rod are basically the same thing, rodeo is just flippier. Its like a misty vs a bio going forward

you would do a switch rodeo.,,

If you do a back flip you are flipping backwards. Do a front flip you are flipping frontwards.

Therefore if you are doing a switch back flip you will still be flipping backwards, thus you are more or less setting the same thing if you want to simplify. Just cut out the movement and just imagine someone or yourself standing at the edge of the jump (switch or not) doing a rodeo, they will throw the same either way they are facing.

I think this is a perspective issue though. To the person flipping they are doing a rodeo but to someone watching, not knowing which way they are facing it would look like a misty if that makes sense.

you can do it either way. If u set like a misty it will just be really flippy but u can set rodeo and make it really flat they're both technically switch rodeo, just different ways of doing it.

how the fuck was that a rodeo? he wasn't even inverted. and if a sw rodeo is set like a misty, then a sw misty is set like a rodeo? y tho

switch misty is set more like a cork , the way u open up your shoulders with rodeo makes it more neutral were as cork is clearly back and misty is clearly forward

Switch rodeo = rotating uphill

Switch misty = rotating downhill

simple. Switch mistys/bios are very distinct, they're not as popular as sw rodeos. Just think of it this way, a sw dub is a switch dub rodeo, so half of a sw dub is a sw rodeo 5.

Exactly, switch misty you rotate your body at least 180 degrees before throwing don (same set as a cork)
