Ok, recently I started skateboarding and it seems to me that if we are taking our names like switch and fakie etc from skateboarding we shoudl at least do it right. I think that switch in skiing should really be called fakie, because it is going backwards. Unnatural in skiing should be called switch because in skating I always feel so unnatural doing shit switch, like its just UNNATURAL! Yeah, that's what I think, but it doesn't really matter, call it what you want.

finally someone with some inteligence on this site, 1)there is no switch in skiing yes you can go backwards but this is called fakie not switch , switch means you switch stances eg. goof and regular (natural) like on a surf board or on a skate board. 2) there is also no cab on skis a cab is a fakie f/s spin not possible on skis as there is no fs or bs unless you aer spinning of of a rail.

in rollerblading, i always call going backawards switch, but that means grinding the other way, cause im so used to using skiing terms...so its kinda complicated.

ok heres my list of new skiing terms that will go into affect after 5 people agree ready?

backwards=switch( i like switch, it sounds right)

unatty/natty= left backside / right frontside

ollie- tail spring

nollie- nose spring

STEEZ- smooth

steezed switch unnatural 720= smooth switch fs7

making unat.and nat. frontside and backside will force everyone to spin both ways liek in snowboarding

 
switch shouldn't become unnatural in skiing because in skateboarding there is no unnatural. They have frontside and backside, but these terms make no sense in skiing. You're right about the fakie thing thoug.

FS/BS is not skiing because you are always facing downhill, unlike snowboarding, where your front is facing one dirction and you back is facing the other.
