Switch Misty 9 Tips

So I have the trick down on a tramp and I'm thinking of taking it to snow right now.

Just wondering if there's any tips on help with the takeoff or anything else before I give it a go. Aswell what size of a kicker would you guys recommend I'm thinking of trying it off of the 40ft jump at the hill. Any serious answers would be greatly appreciated!

You know that switch misty 9 is one of the harder tricks to do? Its not like doing your first backflip on a tramp. Make sure you can stomp switch 9's would be my suggestion.

When it gets to tricks past like 540 I'd say if you have to ask for tips on the internet you're not really ready

I would agree with this. Do you mean like a switch flat/bio ish. I've had this in my mind for some time, can't do them, never tried but I would assume you would need to be able to be comfortable with at least a sw 7. Definitely comfortable over 5 switch

Yea im comfortable with my sw spins as much as I am with regular up to a 7 (my 9s are a tad sketchy). Now that I think about it it could be more of a bio ish flip i dont really know how to describe it but I definitely have an idea of how I want to set it on the snow.

First... Ski backwards. Second do a 180 and try to front flip at the same time. When you're frontlipping try to spin. Good luck!

I completely disagree with that he might be ready, but he might just be wondering if there is any really important tips that could help him.

Exactly, i feel completely ready and i'm not some grom that wants to huck a crazy ass trick out of nowhere. I'm just wondering if any of the more advanced skiers on NS could provide tips on commitment, or setting it off a ski jump as it is different than a tramp.

Dont know why people are being d-bags. Plenty of tricks to this trick that one should know.... First obviously be comfortable with setting switch tricks. There are two issues i used to have occasionally with this trick. 1. Is pre setting 2. popping out and not up.

1. Dont pre set at all with this trick because you can catch a an edge easily (nothing worse than losing the ski right off on a big set like that). So make sure you time your pop to be right after the lip. Obviously this is important with every trick, however with this one its particularly easy to catch an edge/lose a ski.

2. When setting this trick it is sort of an instinct to pop over your shoulders and out away from the jump. However make sure you pop up before you pop out, or you wont properly match the trajectory of the jump, either it will send you too far or knuckle.

Overall i would say just send it, remember to pop up and after the jump, then just imagine switch backflip with some spin. It comes around pretty easily with the right pop.

Luck! let us know how it goes
