They seem like such a weird ass trick I can't wrap my head around

This is definately a longshot but does anyone have some tips (ie jump size) or videos of someone doing them?

Im pretty sure at the end of a slvsh cup video with anti ollila and syrja maybe. Only time ive seen it and was like whattta fuckk

haha holy shit cant believe i rememered that, around the 2 minute mark. And at the end theres a forward but opp carve cork 3

sw cork 5 is pretty easy to imagine, but i agree hard to imagine 3.

im not sure if that bdog clip was a "cork" 3. his skis were beside him at the peak/zero g of his jump

i think regular cork 3 at the zero g part of the trick, your spine is parallel (or more angle) with the horizon @ 180.

so wouldnt it be the opposite for sw? or when you go sw does the direction change (so you set for bio but going bw)

Uhh it definitely was. His skis "beside" him is due to his spine being parallel with the horizon just as you said. Watch again. Maybe the angle from behind makes it hard to tell but he is clearly off axis and not just tweaking a safety.

Actually watching it again, bdog didn't get any tweak at all on the safety grab. It's purely from being off axis.

True. But I’m just thinking of other off axis tricks where you would have your skis beside you and spine parallel to horizon at peak.

like misty or flat.

i thought the same about bdogs but the grab gives the illusion of a little cork plus he does dip his right shoulder a little at the take off, id count it since it also had me rewinding to watch it a few times

The last three at the peak of the jump, different to the first bdog video:

Dude what's with you and the "peak of the jump"? That doesn't really matter, different jumps have different peaks relative to the rise and fall time and it's usually not the middle of the air. It also has absolutely nothing to do with whether something is corked or not. Think about a double cork 14. The "middle" of the trick is coming out of the first cork and if you took a freeze frame, it would appear they aren't corked at all. You can tell if something is corked based on how they go into it and come out of it. Not always at the "zero g" part of the air

Hb triple cork then?

they would 1.5/3 rotations in at the middle of the jump. They would be equally off axis as they would be on a single cork.

when learning tricks on a tramp you have to break down tricks into your body position relative to where you are on the jump.

it’s how you can tell the difference between rodeo and flat. They’re both set in a similar direction.

but to different people they can mean different things. Who’s to say which is right.

I still maintain that the Phi instagram clip is a sw flat 3.

Whaaaaat i think 1:40 in the slvsh video above is quite literally a textbook sw flatspin and it looks NOTHING like casablunts. His is more of sw wobble 3 with some flavor

unless you mean flat as in a regular 3 not the flippy kind then sorry

R u an art major???

It’s not like an extremely rare trick search with #swcork3 on instagram there’s at least 2 proper ones. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen Antti do them live at Ruka.

I think it’s just so hard to differentiate between a sw cork 3 and a sw flat 3. Phil’s is so slightly corked that it’s the bare minimum but still steezy as fuck. It really depends on what you wanna call a flat and and what you wanna call a cork imo.

In any sw cork 3 I’ve seen, when they’re at 180, they’re facing the sky with feet toward the landing and then it comes back to feet in the last 180. Kinda looks like a sw Lincoln loop but less inverted and more flat.

WTF are you guys talking about with sw flat 3? It couldn't be any more different.

For the most text book sw flat 3, Andy Mahre, IDEA, @11:53. The OGs sorted this out a long time ago.

That’s wasn’t sw

Wouldn't Andy's trick be a switch bio tho, since he's setting it forward?

I get that it's still corked but a switch bio 3 is much easier to visualize than a switch cork 3.

I see where you're coming from but I think when naming switch tricks we have focussed on which way you throw it compared to the direction you are moving and how that makes your access in the air. If you are spinning on the horizontal plane with your skis leading ahead of you it's cork, which all these videos do, except the first phil one which is just a sw 3.

Think about sw misty and sw rodeo. The sw misty is thrown towards the lip of the jump, the sw rodeo is thrown away from the lip. but your body goes through the motion as if it were throwing the opposite.

Yea, I suppose you're right.

Time to get learned at 15:48 the brother Andy was throwing this shit down in 2007.
