Switch bumps?

For the past few years I have heard rumors of competitive bump skiers working on switch tricks in bump runs? Is this true? And more importantlys, is there video?
 
Sounds like the orthopaedic surgery business is about to go through the roof.

On another note, threads...I want to see this.
 
I actually think that they arent even allowed to throw dubs, so i highly doubt switch tricks. But it would have been sick to see switch 5 and 9s
 
For clarification: Dubs are NOT allowed, switch tricks are.

The problem is, you need a very long inrun to have time to pop a 180. Especially at the Nor-Am and World Cup levels. You are traveling with so much speed, and the inrun is usually far too small to do a 180. Also, except for the level of skiing with like 10 year olds. They may have a long inrun. But at the Nor-Am level, there will never be a long enough inrun. When I was 12 though, I did a SW 5 because I had fallen in the middle section so my run didn't matter anyway.
 
upon reading the title of the thread, i pictured some crazy fuck bombing a bump run switch. that would be insane...
 
There was at least one Bumps & Jumps (?) competition back in like -04, -05. It was a course of bumps with two jumps, then a regular jump and a rail I think.

Candide threw a mean switch five in the bumps.
 
what about landing switch then throwing a dirty switch 180 grab on the next bump back into the line? You can definitely use any mogul as an air. This would really set a competitor in their own class to be determined worthy or not by a panel of judges.
 
i know a few bump skiers who have tried doing 1s and 5s off the bottom jump and tried to ski out the bottom section switch...normally resulted in some pretty epic carnage, but a few of them got somewhat close to doing it a few times
 
I saw a guy in Fernie bombing some bumps switch on Teles. He was pretty much kneeling on his tips. It was some divide-by-zero-does-not-compute shit going on right there.
 
Dude 16C weather is made for moguls. Been ripping for 4 straight days and never touched the park!

Switch in moguls is permitted for switch take offs. But since you will never have time to get your balance, the jump will throw out up and kill you. Have any of you jumped a mogul jump? its not a fucking big air.

But if you pull off a whole run switch? it is not permitted because its impossible to score. And by the way I have trying for years...I can carve switch, but moguls no
 
This.Mogul jumps are weird creatures.

I used to throw SW 5's all the time at the B level though. When I was 11 and 12 haha. The jumps had long inruns and some were so flat. Fun times.
 
french moguls team have been doing dubs in moguls as rumours are that the more than 1 flip ban will be lifted at the olympics
 
switch hits are crazy, but dont score very well. rumor has it hathbanger used to throw switch misty 9s on bump courses
 
i would think maybe on the last bump before the jump they could hit it do a 180 then hit the jump out. judges probably wouldn't like it but it'd be sick
 
that sounds pretty insane! sidenote, i want to try to teles sooo bad. switch carving on them looks like it has to be 10x of a cooler feeling than carving switch on normal sticks
