Switch backflip

I dont understand how a switch front could even happen, you would have to huck ur head down so far, and you couldnt bring your legs around to help and the landing would be blind.

McConkey was the first to ever attempt and stick a "switch back". McConkey was the one that first started changing the way everyone look at lines and jumps.

"Switch Backs", are not played out like some fags on this site say it is. Rory proves that in this years MSP teaser. No trick gets played out. Even a good old iron cross off a huge cliff still looks good to me.

If you think that "switch backs", are played out then one should ask all the pro JOE skiers and snowboarders that were there when Rory stuck the double in Whistler last spring. All I heard was that it was the sickest trick pulled during the entier session.

rory bushfield does a big switch backflip in hit list...in propaganda i think jon does some switch frontflip with a spin it looks real wierd

yeah rory bushfield tried it at X Games but his boot popped out. Now he stomps it in Whistler with MSP in the Push Trailer in slo mo. Looks sick

no he didnt-he double ejected. but its been landed. like 3 years ago i saw footy of one. and in poorboyz new movie i dont remember who-but they throw a sick double back

super secret section in Degenerates, JF Cusson did the first one (i believe) that appeared in a video. that's gotta be '96-'97ish

mike wilson has a switch backflip in the hit list and rory bushfield also in the same film. it looks sick, I wanna learn that too, just have to get bigger balls first

Acctually later in the year he did one and stomped so clean like he never left the ground. But ya a long time ago I saw some video of an asian guy who did one. Crazy

Hah, I haven't posted on this website for over a year, but I had to chime in on this. I am really dating myself here, makes me feel really old that I know this but...you guys are all wrong..

PoorBoyz released a movie called Degenerates back in 98, one of the first true twin tip movies. I don't know how many of you have access to that movie, or even know what it is, but if you do, you can see the first switch back in a major ski flick. You have to fast forward through all the credits and keep fast forwarding until you reach a secret movie at the end. Fast forward through that (or watch it, it has Mike Atkinson, Loubek, and some others), and you will come to a home video of JF Cusson during a very early competition. We are talking little 15 foot table tops and a 6 foot quarterpipe here. In it, he takes off a jump and attempts a japan, but gets hunt up in a flag advertisement that was strapped to the jump. He crashes hard, but gets up and tells his buddies he is going to attempt a "Switch backflip". Everyone is like, "oh man, he is crazy, that trick is impossible, he hit his head too hard." etc. etc. And BAM, he does it with like 6 feet of air off one of the table tops. Before that, those guys didn't even know what a switch backflip was. So...yeah.

Also, they've been around forever, so I don't know what you guys are talking about. Back when 13, Area 51, and Balance came out, you couldn't watch 5 minutes without seeing a switch backflip.

Guys..... some dude did a switch double back like n 6 years ago or something. Switch backs have been around forever. this thread is beat, and makes me feel smart.

Switch Backs are old. I wish someone brought back the switch front flip though, i remember Easley had some nice ones.

first of all, corked, is today your first day in skiing? Johnny Mosely has done them in warren miller films like 7 years ago. It was rory that did it in the x games, and a switch double front looks gay.

THEY are a pretty simple trick on groomers you can spot your landing the whole time, but in Pow its a whole new story. singles and doubles aren't that scary tho because you see the ground alot.

yeah ive pretty much mastered it on the tramp and in the pool and i really want to give it a try on the hill but im soooooooooo scared!

Someone at Baker last year threw a Switch frontfip in our shitty park. It was amazing, on the last big one, like maybe 30ft, it was so sweet though.

i remember that. i think it's at a comp or demo in japan.

also, in berman's second film, second generation, someone does a sw double back at a big air comp (it's probably a schrab brother)

he was just using the searchbar, I don't think he even knew he was bumping a thread from like 4 years ago...
