Switch 180

Okay so this isn't a claim or anything i am just needing some help cleaning it up... I landed a switch 180 for the first time of a 5 foot kicker... nothing big i know. The problem was that i wold start to spin almost as if it was corked causing me to sit back and wash out a lot.
When i do a normal spin i dont have this problem at all.. so i was wondering if i was coming of the lip wrong or something like that.
I am also sorry if this is a repost i looked hard to find something on it and couldn't find anything with the search bar.

if you are corking a 180 you should just go for the 5. You will probably land it your first or second try. Thats usually the case, ive noticed. Just comit.

try to just carve off first, the spin obviously isn't hard to get around... so just keep your weight centered.

because it's a switch 1, you'll spin just by looking, you don't have to wind up and make it look dumb. since your body follows your head, you just have to look and you'll do the 180.

with a sw 1 you dont want to carve as someone before said. with bigger spins, carve forsure, but w/ a sw 1 if your doing this your very likely to catch your tips on the take off. for the amount of spinning, carving isn't necessary while you're learning. just stay square over your skis and get a good even pop, then look at your landing over your shoulder and your body will follow.

keep your weight centered on your skis and wait until your in the air to spin, i found when i was learning switch spins i would lean too far forwards and either catch my tips or go of axis

i find if you dont pop off the lips very hard on smaller jumps while hitting it switch then you kind of go into a fail so try to pop more and see how that works.

strauss101 is right...no carve. Just pop on the top of the lip and turn your shoulders and look whichever direction you want to spin, you're "corking" cause your leaning your weight, which is awesome, cause now it will be easier to get into real corks when you start spinning more...

When you pop and start to turn, if you are spinning over your left shoulder, take your right hand and and reach for the outside of your left boot. This will suck you up, you'll look steezier, and it will keep your weight moving forward so you shouldn't backseat it so much...

try it out, hopefully that helps, and keep on shredding bro! Switch 1's are super sick!

Jokes?
If I try a 3 on a really small jump so i have to wind it up big I'll accidentally cork it like half the time. Obviously this leads to fail but I generally get my feet back under me before I land on my back. Think I should just try to huck a cork 7 on a bigger jump? lol
