Switch 0 spin help!

How do i spot the landing & know when to pop on a switch zero spin?

I've been wanting to get better at switch 0's but never really know when to pop or even when the landing is coming up :P

Any tips/trick would be appreciated.

Cheers Diento

Look over your shoulder or under your armpit for take off and landing, it should be fairly intuitive when you need to pop, it's one of those things you just need to feel out really.

Pop and spot as if you're doing a late switch 1, and do a shifty the opposite way to counter the small amount of rotation you started.

look backwards over your shoulder but pop straight up, don’t open/turn your hips downhill when you come off the lip

Wait as late as possible until you pop (I tend to find I pop far too early). When popping just imagine some dynamite has exploded under your boots, that’s the general direction you want to be popping

I like to imagine that a switch zero is just a straight air where you're looking back over your shoulder the whole time. just blind to the entire jump. shit would be terrifying.

The problem is if i look over my shoulder on a switch zero i pretty much spin a 180 automatically :/ so i guess i have to shifty to counter rotate that?

If you are looking well before you take off that shouldn't be an issue, turning your head on take off would definitely cause rotation though, that said everyone's body does stuff different so yeah shifty to counteract the rotation and you should stay at zero.

If that's a struggle on pop do a quick reset, look back up the hill and then back over your shoulder when you feel yourself coming down to land, biggest thing is to just commit and feel it out. Good luck dude.

Thnx for the tips man! the struggle is the kickers in the dome that i ski at are a bit poppy and landings arn't visable from the top so. ofcourse these are all excuses and ill try my best to apply your tips :)

Snowworld Landgraaf in the Netherlands

Yeah those landings are pretty easy to miss with the whippy kickers! Easier to learn on a cheese wedge for sure!
