"Swiss ski resorts hit by drought"

yea man they are suffering pretty hard over there. very little snow in norway or sweden. Lots of hotels offer this terrain guarantee starting december 1, and none of them can deliver on their promises right now. resorts and hotels losing a tonne of moola over there.

yeah its sad. a lot of ski resorts are closed because of this drought. right now we are just able to ski on the glacier but even there is a huge lack of snow. i hope we get some snow soon. yooo north america send us some snow hahaha.

dont worry guys its snowing now and all week! should get 50-100cm this week depending on the resort and next week its also snowing

it was more earlier when i looked. its less now cause there was a second big dump on wednesday which snow forecast isnt showing anymore :(. o well pray for snow!

let's just hope european winter is just a bit late and not completely shitballs like last year :/

where do you live?!?!? at least you have snow. i live in the fucking south west. fuck sake! not even any snowdomes down here!

Yeah.

Then again, next year I'm finally heading out for westcoast skiing. Can't stand the unpredictable shit here anymore. :D

been reading about this whole no snow in europe thing. from what I read it also seems to be a trend, as in the alps just don't receive much snowfall (period) and some years it is particularly pathetic. does this sound accurate?

Usually less than Rockies or Coast Mountains, but I'd say more than the East Coast mountains. It ranges from 5 to 15 meters in the Alps, with seasons being very special.

Then again, contrary to US/CAN, it's not the amount of snow that makes skiing in the Alps so special. If there was the amount of snowfall in Europe that you guys had last year, we wouldn't be able to ski shit because of avy danger. :D

ya theres interesting. i don't know the mountain ranges THAT well so I didn't know the alps were really avalanche prone
