Jacob threw a sick Dub 12 to win comp was dope an good to see Jon back on the podium and big up to the UK riders steping up and going as big as the big boys!

Stoked to see Jacob get a win, its been a while and he gets a lot of hate.

my guess is:

henrik double flat (real flat not like a kangoroo)

jon double cork 10 or 12 with a doublesaftygrab..but he scored second so maybe he cut put his grab to a truckdriver!

UK:
1 - James Woods2 - Paddy Graham3 - Hector Barbour4 - Joe Tyler5 - Andy Matthew6 - Jamie Matthew7 - James Machon8 - Joseph Tomlinson9 - Josh Fawcett10 - Julian Ball
Fair play to the Swedes too! Jacob is an awesome dude and I've been hoping he would win something soon!

only thats completely wrong and has been on the freeze site since before the comp was on and also I think Dom means the guys that got into the international comp.

The top 4 from the uk comp was actually 1.paddy 2.tomo 3.woodsy 4.andy bennet and they all got into the international one.

seriously dude your so lame...

he threw a dub cork 10 truck driver, pretty techy trick, shows how well rounded he is... he has also only jumped 4 times since joss...

You can hate on his racing or his style, but at the end of the day, its just jelousy coming through

I wouldn't call it a truck driver before we see some footage.. The picture of Jon on hes website its a double safety. Any how its better than the high mutes everyone is doing.

love that kids hate on jons dub 10 safety, but love henriks dub with a safety. proving once again its not about the skiing, just how many x's are before the L in the size of your clothing.

its not all about the grab, its the speed and style of the rotation. i can almost gaurentee that jon's hucked, speedy dub 10 looked nothing like henriks slow sw dub 9 in any way, shape, or form (which was also pretty innovative and crazy to see, because not many people throw dub cork 9s or even switch for the matter). However, i will agree that there is a lot of bias about skiing and what people think of different pros.
^ and to the guy above me.. sollliiddd post. Im positive 5' 11" (or so) Jon Olsson wears the same size as 5' 6" Henrik.

i think a lot of NS mistakes fast for hucked (not accusing you specifically, just something ive noticed)

for example yes, you cant really do a dub 12/10 slowly. i mean honestly, its a dub 12/10, if you did it slowly, youd land on your face. but people like jon grab them well, and throughout, and you can clearly tell that they are in control, and know precisely where they are and have the tricks on lock. in my mind thats not hucked. sure its not SLOW, but its certainly not hucked, its just a faster rotation. that'd be like saying a 9 is more hucked than a 5, simply because you have to spin faster, when in reality both can be equally steezy.

i also find the dub hate funny, because its EXACTLY like the hate on switch 10's 5 years ago. but look now, youd never see a kid hate on casabons switch 10 dub critical. tricks evolve over time.

both dubs are sick, i just think its amusing how one gets so much more hate, simply because the riders image doesnt fall into younger freeskiers current hot trends.

yeah i see what you mean. hucked might not have been the best word choice; i havent even seen it yet.
im just trying to point out that between the two tricks, henrik pulled off the safety better than jon most likely did, so while he got love for such a simple grab, jon hasnt gotten any. I think in this specific case, it wasnt the grab that made henriks dub, it was how he did it and how no one else has done anything like it. We've seen dub 10's and 12's a million times now with way crazier grabs than a dub safety. Look at Elias for instance at Stockholm with his crazy octo-style grab. When you look at the two tricks, of course henrik would get way more love for his. Still, i havent seen the video of Jon's trick, but I'm just expressing that the two tricks aren't really on the same level

Go watch henrik's trick at CH it was a dub 9 single safety and you all loved it now before anyone has even seen the footage jon does a dub 10 truck or double safety (same thing to me) and everyone starts to hate.

WE HAVENT SEEN THE FOOTAGE AND YOUR ALREADY SAYING HERIKS TRICK IS BETTER THAT PROVES THE HUGE BIAS YOU FUCKING MORRON.

i already explained that jon had a simple grab for a dub 10. we've seen safetys forever on dub cork 10's and way crazier grabs on those on city jumps, like i explained. So, im assuming that it wont be as innovative as a sw dub cork 9, regardless of the grab.
moron*

jons double grab was pretty much bow and arrowed.

henrik did his switch dub 10 but on the last hit of the comp he went for a dub 12 blunt out of nowhere. (hed been doing switch dubs all night). nearly stopped but fell pretty hard.

And skip to about 7 minutes to get the the qualifications.

I honestly don't know how Jacob won. I liked Jon and Henrik's tricks way better. I guess that's why I'm not a judge.

you guys need to check other websites out there apart from newschoolers, newschoolers is by far not the quickest to report on such events. if you read the article on freeskier you will find all the facts about who beat who and why. even the argument about how good henriks dub 9 will be answered...........he didn't even throw one, russ was the only one to do so in the finals.

Jon's dub 10 was not in any way hucked. It was one of the cleanest tricks thrown down all night on what proved to be a difficult landing. However, I'm sure that if Henrik had landed his second jump he would have won, the most stylish dub 12 blunt. He got it round to his feet but couldn't ride it out on the shitty landing. Judges were spot on IMO.

Just thought I'd slap up a picture I took at the London Freeze of PC Fosse for the Faction crew! I know my camera skills suck balls but meh I tried :)

henrik would have won if he stuck his last hit of a dub 12 tail but washed out, was so sick

jacob won with a dub 12

Unity productions have the story covered with some footage and some stills from a few different angles, standby for the story

It was pretty ridiculous, think every trick in the quarter finals and beyond was a double of some sort. Bobby was so close with his sw misty 12 attempts, Jon's dub 10s were massive and really smooth. Andreas's double grab dub 10s were flawless.

Also the Brits represented, Paddy and Woodsy dubs were sick, and shout out to Julian Ball's cork 7 Japan & Nose was super stylee.

Apologies in advance for any mistakes in the NS article, probably called a fair few of the tricks wrong!

Was on the knuckle watchin, and was a bit tipsy but here's what I remember:

Elias, so unlucky not to win, his runs were super nice dub ten with octo grab, and dub ten with a massive "booyah" poke.

Jacobs dub 12s were as clean as anyones dub 10's, super nice, landed all o them pretty solid, grabbed the whole way round, and his second dub was waaaaay more corked than anyone else trying 12's.

Jon was landing waaay deep, really clean... looked like truck driver to me as he soared over my head. Just a nice variation and certainly a much nicer trick than when he does it saety.

Henrik: double 12 blunt in his last run was sooo much better than anythin he did all night, i he had landed it, he would have beeen suuuper close to winning.

Russ, swtich cork nines all the way, not huge, think he missed a big switch cork ten which would have put him way up there.

PC osse, ell on his dub cork ten, taken deep with the most ridiculous poke taken as he went into his second cork, would have destroyed PK's cork 10 i he had stuck it but he didnt.

Lasse landed a dub 12 but was no way near as clean as jacobs.

Bobby switch dub mistys are money and amazin to see up close, never looked close to stickin em clean...maybe jump was too small, but landin held up pretty well.

As or the Brits, Paddy had several clean dub 10's but lost out to Andreas who held his grab longer and had a cleaner landing.

Woodsy was going hell or leather, dub cork 12s in qualiying but didnt stick one, looked like he was having a bit o trouble with his grab, that said i he had landed it he would have been top 8 easy....

Tomo was one o the most stylish riders on the battle o britain but id say he would have been a bit disappointed, didnt stick a dub rodeo 10.

Katie summerhayes was nuts, spinnin 7s at 15 years old like a pro. And well done to andy bennett or the balls to land a zero on a pretty steep short landing!!

All in all, judging seemed pretty accurate to me. Lots o emphasis on landing which is about right. Only person to eel aggreived would be Elias, and that must have been a close judging decision between either his 10's or jacobs 12's. His was the best jump o the night or me though.!

when has Jon ever "hucked" anything he is by far one of the most calculated and precise jumpers in the sport. Haha Jon won't even compete if he thinks he can't do his trick perfectly. Easily one the stupider things ive read on here in awhile.
