Really though, Finland is Nordic, because it's Northern European, social democracy, very progressive, etc. But it is not Scandinavian, as the language is not in the same family as Swedish/Norwegian/Danish/Icelandic/Faroese. It is a Finno-Ugric language, pinning them closer to Karelian and NW Russian natives.
