Suspects, armarda PC or public enemys?

Hi, I'm looking to buy some skis and the shortlist i have come to is between the suspects, the armarda pipe cleaners or the public enemys. this is mainly due to price and availability as i know they are not "perfect" for what im after. I ski about 20% runs, 40% park and 40% back country. One problem is that im 6'1, well built and have a history of destroying edges so i'm also looking for a ski with tough edges. any advice would be really appreciated!

i would go suspects....pipe cleaners are more of a pipe/park ski and i find salomon more reliable

dont get the public enemies read this threadhttps://newschoolers.com/web/forums/readthread/thread_id/396874/everyone hates them they are heavy, and are stiff with not much life in the flex people said they feel dead when they have skied them.

do u ski alot of rails and boxes?? if u do then you might not want the pipe cleaners because they have a race base and rails have been said to really chew them up... if you hit alot of rails but still want the P Cs then look into the ar6s because they dont have race bases

ok for 40% Back country and 40% Park i wouldn't go for any of those skis.. They are all under 90mm waist and for 40% BC I would go wider than that.. PCs Kill on piste and in the park.. I would guess suspects do the same.. but neither will be great in the BC.. PEs are generally unpopular on NS (see the thread already mentioned) and I hated them.. Being realistic it is hard to pick one ski for everything but if you have to then you should probably go for a ski 90-100 underfoot with a relatively solid flex.. Think Rossignol S5/Brigade, Line Blend etc.. You are from the Uk and going for a season in verbier right? Ideally you want two pairs of skis for a season.. Personally I like line skis because they all have Fatty Base and Edge so i think the durability in that area is good.. Line Blends would be a good bet for all purpose.. But the mounting point is way back so you would have to mount away from sidecut centre.. You are better of going for two pairs of last years skis than one pair of this years.. thats my advice anyway..

i second line blends. they rule, most bomber construction ive ever seen from a ski.

as for the mounting point, i forget who it was that made the point of line's g-force geometry, but the sidecut is very mellow underfoot and exaggerates at the tip and tail, so moving the mounting point forward isnt going to change the way the ski skis all that much. i ended up mounting mine 4 back from center, and will be skiing them friday, so i'll let you know how they go.

cheers for all the feedback. Sadly i am skint as hell, and tbh havnt really got the cash for skis - however i can afford one cheap (£300 max) pair of twins this winter (ive got some pieste skis) and so i need a bit of an all-rounder. Im looking for skis around 175cm + long, and i can only find the blends cheap at 171 so thats kinda out the question. it interesting that u mention the brigades cos i was thinking about them, but then worried that 98cm underfoot would be to large for park and pieste. Anyone skied the brigades in the park? Ive taken the decision to give up rails cos a) i suck, and b) i cant afford writing off anymore skis or injuring myself (got internal bleeding in my leg and wrote my skis off in go last year). so if they handle jumps well and arnt too heavy to spin then they might be a good idea. the site i have found for cheap skis & bindings is here, if u know any others then i might be able to widen the scope but i am stuggling to find any, and money is a big factor. the suspects are 86cm underfoot, but im not sure that is enough. why cant there be a cheap twin in 175 with 90-95cm base and a sick graphic. why?!

becasue that would be too good to be true. why would they do that is the question.

but pe suck, numerous bad reviews and out of style, pipecleaners are to much park for you, even tho its a great ski. suspects great all around and prob very durable, being made by salomon.

Ok so one ski.. 2009 Blends run at £319 from www.snowfit.co.uk (sorry no link i'm lazy).. they also have the 08s in a 179 at £249 but this years are meant to be way better.. I would look at Brigades and Blends like I said..Scott Punishers £279 (Snowfit)Also check out www.skibartlett.com they have a crap website but if you are in london they have a massive range and loads of good deals..

Don't get the PE. You should get the suspects because you du BC.The PC would be a good ski but they are not fat enouth for powder..
