Suspect vs. dumont

So i've been wanting to get the dumont, but i've been hearing alot of people talking about the suspect...i looked at the gear preview and they have the same dimensions, both with woodcore, and the reinforced edge...

are they the same ski?

slap me if i'm a noob
 
i was wondering the same thing too, they look almost identical. It might be kinda like the J.O. Pros and Spawn 1's, same exact ski, but the pro model costs more
 
theyre not the same ski. Same dimensions, yes, same materials and flex, but the dumonts have a double layer of "edge armour", salomon's metal weaved wire that made the edges 20% to 30% more solid etc. dumonts would be my choice for a ripping ski, but a little more spensive.
 
Yeah I forgot to say in my origonal post...or is it cause the other ski has dumonts name on it...thus adding what...a 100$ to the price tag?

I think i'll still go with the dumonts...i do like the sound of the edge system, though i wonder how effective it will be.
 
go for it, i unfortunately wasnt able to demo either one at the salomon demos like 3 weeks ago (kinda pissed me off), so id wonder if the suspect would be a better bang-for-your-buck deal.
 
yeah thats exactly what i'm trying to figure out ya know? because it all just crossed my mind, when reading the description of both...I was like wow...these sound like the exact same ski, just one says "Suspect" the other says "Dumont"
 
Are the park skis the only one's not rockered in their line up next year?

They replaced the Foil with im guessing The Lord...which is slightly rockered...

How well would the suspect & dumont hold outside the park?
 
the suspect is the new foil, chief.

the lord is like a beefier and wider foil with a slight rocker.

the dumont and suspect would both be incredible outside the park.
 
The Suspects look Way sick, and so do the dumonts. Is there any different in the dimension though?
 
slightly stiffer than they used to be because of the vertical sidewall. ski rips, just demo'd em this week, theyre straight sex
 
how is the flex on either ski. is it nice and butterey and easy to do nose presses with or are they stiff and stable at speed or some where in the middle ground
 
i asked a salomon rep if the suspect and dumont are the same ski except for the edge armour and he confermed that they were excaclty the same except the dumont has more edge armour.
 
There must be a flex difference. Maybe dumonts are a little stiffer? all the selomon riders except for sammy rode dumonts at x. he was the only one i saw on suspects
 
i believe the dumont is stiffer and more of a pipe flex. that is probably why simon used it in x games pipe but not in NAO slopestyle.
 
your an idot he did not even do the slopestyle cause of an injurie in quarter pipe after going 30 feet out

at the jib academy today one of salomon's was skiing on one sumont ski and one suspect ski so they must be similar
 
uhm the suspect is the replacement for the thruster. this years thruster and dumont were the same dimensions, and next years are too. they just changed the shape for next year. the foild was an all mountain park ski, not park and pipe like the suspect is. the lord ids the replacement for the foil
