Surgery or no surgery...

I have a chrinic dislocating shoulder. Its been getting worse over the past 2 years.

It popped out again this past saturday at brighton doin a 270 onto a box, then i fell on it. Idk how much more I can progress with a fucked up arm...

Is surgery worth it?

If anyone has had shoulder surgery, how's it been since then?

I had a dislocated/fractured shoulder and i had to get surgery. Its extremely painful but it heals very fast. I just hope that you dont play any sports where you have to throw anything. Cause its been 3 years for me and i still cant throw a football more than 10 feet.

But to answer your ? surgery is mos def worth it cause i kept dislocating it. And skiing is my main focus. So i just waited till the season was over and did it then. 6 week recovery. Go for it fool!

Its definitely worth it because if you dont, it'll just get weaker and weaker. My buddy dislocated his arm a few times, and then it started dislocating at the drop of a hat. He dislocated it opening a door once. Had the surgery, now he's good to go

surgery...like everyone else has been saying it will help and less problems will occur if you get it done. my sister had surgery 3 times on her shuolders and since then shes had no problems

i had surgery right after i dislocated it the first time then again i did tare everything in my shoulder haha

im gonna wait till after the season knowing i will constantly dislocate both my shoulders this season

i had the same problem, i would sneeze and my shoulder would pop out, i had a torn liebrum though, so i really needed the surgery, and it sucks but its 100% worth it no matter what i would get the surgery, just a matter of now or after the season

I have had really bad shoulder problems in the past and i went to physical therapy for a while to help it but I had to give up playing sports and anything that was stressful on my shoulder. I would say surgery is the way to go so you wont have to deal with future problems...had I made that decision sooner I would have been able to do a lot more.

my friend had that problem. like you could jokingly hit him on the shoulder, and it would pop out. it was bad. it was actually pretty funny cause he'd dislocate it all the time, i became quite the pro at putting shoulders back in place haha. he got surgery and it's pretty much good as new. i'd recommend it.

there was a thread about this recently.

but i also had the surgery done. still not able to throw anything correctly and its been almost 4 months. pain is not an issue though, its just tightness and lack of strength.

I wentthe other way, I have repeatedly injured both of my shoulders playing high level rugby and had a consult with the surgeon because my shoulder was subluxing (partially dislocating) in my sleep, if i lifted wrong, threw to hard etc. After talking to the surgeon i decided not to have surgery as she could only promise 80% mobility and i would be out for a long period of time. I still have issues with it but physio etc has helped and i dont regret my decision.

i tore my rotator cuff, and i got surgery on it, totally worth it. i was out for a couple months but im back 100%

i had the same problem for like 6 months i had big old tear in somethin i forget. anyways i waited for ski season to end and got the surgery. recovery was kinda a pain tho. but thats cause it was open surgery not othroscopic. if they offer to give you a brace to keep your shoulder in for the ski season you can take it....but they dont really do squat
