I know this term gets tossed around a lot but im curious what all of you think. Whats the surfiest pow ski out there, I know Pollard’s skis are designed to preform in a surfy type of way but if love to hear some more options. Ideally would like to hear skis that work well as touring skis

Praxis Powderboards or Protest, Volant Spatulas, DPS Spoon 148/138 or the Armada Arg II I'd say all of these are Reverse/Reverse designs (or close to it)... really there isn't much surfier stuff than this

Personally, I skied an Armada Bubba for a season and that is still the surfiest ski I have ever been on but I would really love to try some of the ones I listed above.

The surfiest skis I've found are flat rockered skis, no camber at all. but also surf feeling has more to do with snow and terrain than anything else.
 
I don't get the name. It feels so good on a surfboard to really get your fins/rail in and hold your bottom turn hard. The energy just shoots you right back up to the lip. It's a feeling more comparable to holding an edge on carving ski than slashing my tails out on a "surfy" ski. Don't know if that made sense.

Based on this, I say the surfiest ski is a Fischer world cup SL 165
 
Im not a big powder ski guy but if i was i would get something similar to what durtschi used in edias. He rode away from everything in the powder. I always felt that whatever atomics he was on must have been really good powder skis.

yeah but not really. more like a soft-snow carver maybe. like pollard's skis or the blade. Something that gets in the snow a bit and hold its tail. rather than floats over it like hovercraft.

i guess really if you want to feel like surfing just snowboard.

Yeah it's taken on an entirely new meaning in skiing. News to most people on here but most surfboards feel very engaged and have a fairly defined release/hook up on them. Even twin fins can arc a turn nicely and drive through it, though there is some slipping involved. A good board never lacks drive (in the right surf), but will let you change direction when you want to and without losing all your speed.

I have SFBs and they are this very odd combination of being super compliant and easy to change direction on when flat, but on edge they dig in deep because of the tight radius. They're very soft though and I'm eager to try some of the Season stuff because they've got a similar thing going on but stiffer.
