i always wanted to surf and im really pumped to get started this summer. I live in ct so i will be mostly surfing in Rhode Island because my friend has a beach house in Matunuck. Other than the Matunuck surf beach i was wondering if you guys knew any other good surf spots in rhode island like 30 minutes or less away

well tis probably a lot further than 30 minutes but long sands in york maine (right after the border) is so dank. really good break

Well i dont really no the time away but fenway beach in misquamicut (sp) is a realy nice melow brake, realy fun to mess around on. I bodyboard but i can surf a little and thats where i do it

lil rhodies the shit

real good surf sometimes, but its not very consistent. Like rideable a couple days a week

IDK how far away mantuck is, but i spend a lot of time in Narragansett, real mellow waves most of the time, but if theres a storm, it can get gnarly. Check out magicseaweed.com for the surf report, sorry no link im lazy, but some of my favorite spots are in Newport, 1st and 3rd beach are decent, and in Narragansett, you can go to the town beach, sometimes it gets realll crowded tho, and surf the far right section of the beach close to the wall. The far end gets good sometimes too, way past the beach club (dunes club), by narrow river. But my favorites in Gansett are definately point judith, and bonnet shores beach. Point judith probably gets the biggest, and has real nice rights and some shorter lefts. Gets REAL crowded though. And if theres a storm or any dec surf, Bonnet shores has the illest lefts. Its got this perfect break too, mad consistent, and its prob my favorite spot to go. Theres this ill 30-35 ft cliff thats PRIMO to gainer off that you surf near thats so fun to jump off when theres no surf. If your down for a day trip, DEF hit up block island, it has some of the best +least known spots in RI, PM me if you want any more info on block island or anything, ill be down there a lot times this summer whenever the surfs up, im in providence so its like a 45 min drive, but id love to shred with ya some day.

i go to uri and have a house in narragansett during school.matunuck is right next to narragansett, but ya, point judith is usually the best, but there are numerous spots along ocean road in narragansett. be careful at some spots though, on good days there tends to be a lot of localism. if the waves are too big, check out the kay, which is also on magicseaweed.
