You can't really "surf" Lake Tahoe. However being that it only 3.5 hours from SF then it is doable if you're a freak of nature.

...Just put it in you mouth.

in souther cali you could surf and ski in one day. The traffic is the only problem. Surf huntington beach and ski mount High, i think thats the name, the one next to bear, that is closer to LA.

i bed to differ on surfing lake tahoe. I have surfed the lake plenty of times. When it gets windy enough some windswell picks up and there are quite a few spots on north shore that break. I have seen it head high , and one time it was over head. Its not world class surfing, you wont get barrelled, but it is very doable. I have some video i can upload, but im too lazy to do so. If you run a search on surfline.com there is video of adam hostetter surfing the lake.

Wooo i never knew you could surf the lake. usually when im up there there's super small waves no even worth looking at.

I've seen pretty large waves at ski beach, all in winter when the storms come in so you'd need a nice wetsuit.

Anywhere in SC from LA to Ventura it's possible. It takes about 2-3 hours to get up to Snow Summit or Big Bear.

Yeah, at Big Bear its easy to ski and surf in the same day. I've done it plenty of time. Especially during the spring when it gets really slushy in the afternoon, it is good to ski in the morning and then surf in the afternoon.

you can surf in san francisco. try Stinson, anywhere (almost) in North Beach, Bodega (north of SF), Rocky, Pacifica, et cetera. its fridgid though, barge it in a 3/4 or a 4/5. tons of guys wear wetties with hoods and all, too.

also on most days, it will be PACKED at Pacifica. so many people!

bte, theyre all crappy beach breaks. i hate beachbreaks. bleh.

guy at SkiShop SC to me: "Why is there sand in your bindings?"

"If you're alive, I probably hate you."
