Surface watchlife mounting?

alright im confused after looking at numerous threads. where should i mount surface watchlifes? true center/ core center/ 1cm back ... i have no clue this will also be my first twin tip skis if thats any help

im planning to ride 65 park and 35 all mountain

thanks

mine are 2cm forward of true center and they are baller, but thats not for everyone, ive heard alot of people mount them at the "made in austria" and "watch life" type across the ski

message thomson. And I've seen 2 or 3 other people have their fks's rip out of their surfaces. The screws are too short for the soft core or at least thats what I have been told

That's retarded. I know a few guys, including myself, that have been skiing every single day for a couple years on Watch Lifes with FKS bindings. Never had a problem. Ever.

The few people that had problems could have had bad mounts, lousy shop techs, or maybe it was just a pair that did come out with a soft core. If you like the turntable heel, mount 'em up.

Oh, and the "Made in Austria" is true center. Mount a few cm back and they'll rip everywhere. I did a freeride comp today and mine were centermounted. Didn't do too bad.

^ true that. The made in austria line (at the base of the letters) is true center, if you want to be core center go back 2 cm from there. My 183's rip there. I had them originally at +2 from recommended, but didn't like it so much. You'll be happy with -2 or 3 from true center.

I had my FKS 120s rip out twice in under 20 days. The first mount (center mount) the shop tech messed up and had to mount them with healie coils. After 6 days those ripped out. Got a fresh mount 1cm back without healie coils (a correct mount this time) and they ripped out after about 18 days. Now I'm getting a new pair from Surface, FINALLY, after they said they wouldn't for about... 2 weeks. This is the 06/07 watch lifes by the way. If you want more in depth stuff read my review about them.
