Surface vs bluehouse

ya really, they are way different from each other, they both do their own thing, lets keep it that way.
 
I like bluehouse's choice of graphic's. Surface's arent doing it for me. I loved last years watch life graphic-I may pick up a pair of those off Jibij in the future.

Both are cool, indie companies doing their thing. They are both awesome groups expanding freeskiing's boundaries and views on what skiing is.
 
We'll see after this year and people have skied both a lot to see which is "better". They're different skis though, and people have personal preference.... so unless one of them has durability issues it can't be "better" than the other.
 
Surface is going to be more jib friendly where bluehouse i believe is a little more big mountain...but surface is sick..the watch life are sick park skis...stiffer but not like 2x4's...the live lifes are stiffer more for backcountry and big mountain and the live life 2's are backcountry jib skis...good for skiing switch and buttering around...
 
no they don't...they're just different..if they were so hip then why do so many people give em crap..the people who ride for them are sick and awesome people and they seriously don't try to be hip..that's basically the last thing they want...trust me..
 
i wish a company would make different stiffnesses to their skis, like a stiff watch life, and a soft buttery watch life kinda like the concept with the live life and live life 2's but across a broader range of products

We were at the DNA competition in Orem a few weeks ago and saw some of the new Surface lineup. They look quality.

I know they had problems with their old manufacturer, which was unfortunate, but they got rid of them and are working with a new manufacturer.

I think it just comes down to preference. We each use different core materials and have different flexes.

We'll be having demos this season and I'm sure Surface will too so check us both out and see what you like.
 
Because without competition, there can be no innovation or improvement. What drives Surface to keep getting better and improving the quality of their skis? Certainly not solely the drive to make a difference in the ski community, but also to stay afloat with the competition.
 
surface isnt even made by "surface" not to many people know but atomic makes all thier skis that shits sooooo wack. And bluehouse's have such bad pop, i shreaded them last year and they sucked ball sack
 
Look.

I don't want to hate on new companies. In fact, I would love to see more variety in what is out there.

But PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE stop talking about skis that haven't been through the market yet. We really don't know. And until we ski them, none of us have a clue.
 
Besides minor changes in core materials and builds/sidewalls etc, I think most ski technology has been thought out. Unless you count magne-traction and various other gimmicky things. That said choosing a brand is just deciding

1) Who builds a quality ski

2) What flex pattern/ride style you're looking for

3) What topsheed style you're looking for

These days not many people are building a truly low quality ski, so anything you choose comes down to those 3 personal preferences. I ride lines, surface, and libtechs not because I like the brand but because the lines are big and moderate flex for all mountain, the surfaces are still mountainable but better in the park, and the libs can carve shitty east-coast ice.

Screw core brands and alla that, just buy what works. Brand loyalty is stupid unless one brand delivers a model for all you riding styles.
 
It's kinda hard to compare, few have skied on Bluehouse skis, while more have skied on Surfaces. Very few, if any at all, will have skied on both.

So, the feedback you get will be purely based on personal opinons... or what they have
 
exactly, no side by side comparisons here do none of this thread really matters until that happens.
 
Despite what may be claimed, very few have actually ridden Bluehouse, but if there is one thing the MR has it is pop.
