Surface stole me skis.

I used to think they were a very friendly company. I thought supporting this upstart company would be a good idea.

I sent my skis to Surface in April. Paying $130 some odd dollars for shipping from Ontario to Utah.

This was for warranty purpose. During the season the tip of my left ski cracked all the way through the core and was being held on by the p-tex base.

Mike Schneider and I/my parents agreed to send the skis in for him to look at to see if a warranty could be issued.

Mike @ Surface sends:

Thanks for the mail - I have been exchanging emails with your son in hopes

of getting him set up on a new pair of

skis. For warranty issues I ALWAYS ask the customer to send the skis back

so that we can analyze them. This is the

case for every ski company in the industry. This is something that we would

need to do to replace the skis with a

new pair.

With that being said, he can send them back to us to the following

address: xxxxxxxx

Replied to with:

Which shipper/courier do you/we use and who is picks up this cost?

(no answer to this question...)

[skis shipped to surface at our expense. Not wicked, but understandable]

Mike later sends:

Hello.

This email is to let you know that your Surface Watch Life warranty

replacement ski will go out from Salt Lake City on

Monday 4/28 via UPS - a tracking# will follow.

Best regards,

Surface

No skis have been received. A few more emails have been sent his way with no reply...

stop with the email and place a phone call directly to surface. any store that sells surface skis will have a number for you to call

First of all, no stores carry surface. Second of all, their site is down so no contact info to be found.

New update though. A "sales rep" from surface emailed us back with the down low on what happened. The skis got caught in Canadian customs (along with a few other pairs) and they aren't expected to be ever retrieved, so that sucks. But he offered to send me the 08/09's in sept. when they come out! that's fucking sick.

My faith in Surface is now renewed!

thats why you dont make threads like this unless its deadly serious. theres always an answer and no company is going to go out of there way to make you feel like shit.

haha yeah do u find it ironic that the problem was solved so fast after seeing this, no company that small can afford flac like that on the most used tool in free skiing, thus problem solved and it is publicly known! goodvibes!

This was in the works for 5 MONTHS, I think I held my tongue for quite a while. And it's actually quite ironic/coincidental that it got resolved soon after the post.

I'm pretty happy with Surface, but more happy with dealing with a guy named Rob Day. Prompt responses and good customer satisfaction with this guy.

Yeah whoever this Rob Day guy is I like him. I myself have gone through 3 pairs of Surfaces, all of which have been warrantied, but not without me fighting to get new skis. Im sending my last pair back this week and hopefully it'll be the last time.
