Surface Noise.

Is there any difference at all between the Live Free and Live Life other than topsheet. I truly cant find a single difference

I was bummed to find out that Hayden Price had moved over to salomon. Good for him, but I don't like to see surface develop so many talented/under the radar type skiers only to have them sign bigger contracts with huge corporations. It's just the way of the world I suppose. It's a bummer nevertheless.

The grass is always greener for sure. That and these big companies have zero creativity or vision and have to lurk in the dark and steal the ideas of smaller/quicker moving brands. They always come back after a year or two of realizing the loopholes they have to jump through to get anything done. But we love them nonetheless.

Hey!

Hola, amigos! I was wondering if there are going to be any more pressings of the "zero olympic athletes" shirts, or if you had any laying around the warehouse. Thanks for the info! Appreciate it.

Also, still on my 189 LL2s. Loving every minute.

Hola!!

Definitely.. we will do a run of those again soon. Every time we make them they disappear!! Hang tight and we will make it happen!!

YEEEOOOOWWW!!

I just have to thank you guys! I ordered Green Lifes and two shirts and also got a few other nice surprises like a fucking jacket and beanies! You wouldn't believed how stoked I was opening the other random package. You guys rock my socks!!

I don't think so... However, we have some amazing sales taking place right now on remaining 12/13 stuff.. like $200 park skis and $250 pow skis.

Maybe we will do something thought.. hold tight!

A question about the mounting point for the Live Frees: So I just got mine mounted and didn't specify a mounting point when I dropped them off, looks like they mounted the skis on the line between the logos at the center of the ski, is that the recommended mounting point? I ask because the mount looks quite center, if not almost right at true centre, which I don't assume would be ideal for all-mountain riding..

First off... thanks for the support!

Second, its tough to answer that because its such a personal preference. For example, I ski the Live Free pretty much exclusively, one with a Dynafit binding and one with a resort binding. I mounted them BOTH just 2cm back from center of the ski.... and love it.

However, a lot of dudes are skiing this ski more all-mountain / classic like to mount them closer to 4-5cm back from the center.

Third, here is an online link to our mounting guide: LINK

We are shifting inventory into a new shipping warehouse and have some old stragglers we need to blow out quick. Everything is still brand new, still in plastic, still awesome.. just older season stuff. Availability is pretty low, maybe a couple of each size.

ayyy i am 6'3" 200 pounds, ski like 5 days a week, in massachusetts, mainly park but all over the mountain when theres snow, and beat the shit out of skis, ive gone through 4 pairs in the past 2ish years. would buying one lifes be a bad idea? the 3 stage looks sick, technically and aesthetically, but im not sure how well they would do on ice and hardpack and if they would survive a season with how hard i ski

one lifes are sooooooo fun. ride them in ice and hardback and slush and any other form PA snow can come in. Id say get them

I am so insanely impressed with my One Lifes. Due to some problems with my bindings, I haven't been able to ride my 94mm underfoot Morphic's yet (was planning on using them as my everyday ski) and have been on One Lifes every ski day. They have seen icy groomers, pow days, chopped up pow, crud, mashed potatoes, and bumps. They do pow and crud so well, and I am surprised at how well they handle groomers and bumps. In tight, big bumps they are a bit much, especially in a 189, and on icy groomers they get squirrely, but they are still manageable if you just really lay into your turns and keep your edges sharp.

The bases are a bit slow in the flats and they are a bit heavy in the hand, but otherwise they are great. The bases have taken a beating scratching rocks and branches, but the extruded bases have shown their advantages durability-wise. The only real damage was from hard a landing on many sharp, big rocks, and I mean really devastating suckers, the kind that could easily ruin a ski. The bases were gouged in one spot, NOT torn out. They were easily repaired with a ptex candle and after a very, very cold day, the repaired material did not pop out.

These skis are a very good option for an everyday ski, especially for an area like Summit County which has quite variable conditions throughout the season. And for the $250 I paid for them new they are a super great value.

Glad you are liking them so much!

Forster Meeks has been using them for his every day ski for years now and he can't seem to get snough of them. you should see some of the stuff he is able to do in the park on these bad boys.

Hey Surface I haven't heard too much about the No Time park skis and I was wondering how they hold up on jumps and rails as well as the durability of the ski.

Just to let you know, the No Times are now the Blanks. They don't make No Times anymore, the Blanks are No Times without graphics.

The No Times/Blanks are supposed to be disposable park and urban skis. Depending on how hard you ski they could last you a season or they could last you longer. I'm pretty sure that some of the Good Enough edits have people shredding on them.

If you are small enough for a 162, get the No Times for $130 and if you kill a ski or two you can replace with Blanks.

thats all i do with em really haha. it just really depends how hard you plan on beating them up. they are so much fun though.

Ya, I've really just been looking for a ski that I wont mutilate in the first month. My halo 2s look like I took a sledgehammer to them and I've only ridden them this month.

I rode my new life's in powder for the first time yesterday and couldn't be happier with them such a fun playful ski. Stoked for more snow

When are we going to get some info on next years skis? From the odd picture here and there, it looks like you've made some pretty big changes to the lineup, but I haven't been able to find any SIA coverage on you guys.

whats the new warranty email? I sent an email to warranty@freeskibrands.com 2 weeks ago... No response. Also sent a message on FB... No response.

Join the club - it's been over a month since I sent my warranty claim in. I understand they had the whole unveiling of their 2015 line and what not, but come on.... It's been 6 weeks since I started this process.

I ended up just giving up and purchasing new skis. This was the second or third time I needed to get my double times replaced for delaminating in the tips.

Ripped the heel piece out on my new lives again for the third time. I love the skis, and they are super fun, but it just sucks that for some reason they kept on ripping out. Im just wondering what could of caused them to rip out so easily. Are the cores just weak? Did i just get a bad pair?

Is it the same guy mounting them every time? Using the same holes and helicoiling or drilling new ones?

It's a very rare case that a binding will rip out of a ski because of a ski defect. Typically the mount is messed up.

I had a pair of demo Double Times for a minute, the heel piece also ripped out of them multiple times after I did the remount. It happen's to the best of us I suppose

Was mounted by one shop, then ripped out. Heliocoiled in the same holes at shop number two. When those pulled out, I had shop number two mount them again, but backwards, and they ripped out again.

This is just a praise to the guys at surface i met the other day in Bozeman at Revolver. Awesome company awesome people makes me happy to ride their skis knowing how truly involved they are.
