Surface Noise.

You guys should make huge, i mean huge, diecuts for the blanks in all different colors so they don't look so bland. I'd be willing to drop $15 on a huge diecut if its big enough and good quality and color. I love the idea of the blanks as i'm just starting in park and like that i can put more money into a nice pow ski and less on a park ski that has the possibility of snapping as most all park skis do.

I'd definitely suggest the Watch Life (100mm under foot) or a pair of Double Times (90mm under foot) for all mountain ski mixed with park shred.

Just to make myself clear, not just extra large, but so big that it takes up almost the whole ski. so big that you have to put it on before you mount the ski. that my friend would be dope

Are you guys coming out with a bigger One Time next year? I would love to buy a pair, but at 6'3" and weighing over 200lbs, i'm afraid the current 173 is far too small

can you give me an honest explanation as to why you guys get so much crap for allegedly having crappy skis? I've heard you have improved, but i am still weary when people refer to Surface as total crap.

whats up with Causwell? Last years line was a little disappointing (not the products, just lack of variety) and I want to know if they will be producing different outerwear anytime soon.

Honestly, in our opinion it dates back to the early Nine Life and No Time shapes from 3 seasons ago. There were some major durability issues no doubt. However, if you ask around we took care of pretty much everyone who has issues with them.

Granted, you'll always have someone who isn't satisfied but we did the best we could making it right for those who broke skis.

Since then we've taken huge strides improving our park skis, even the No Time last season did very well for us and had extremely low warranty percentage after we made some drastic changes to its construction.

The Double Times have been an awesome ski for us as well. Guys like Banks Gilberti ski 100+ days on one or two of the same pair without having a problem.

Bottom line, we are working super hard at developing park skis that we are proud of and we feel we are making huge strides with the help of our team guys like John Ware, Banks Gilberti, Khai Krepela and more.

I personally have visited ski/snowboard factories all around the world and one things for sure, park skis break no matter what brand they are. I've seen broken park skis all over the finest ski factories in Europe, in Asia and right here in the USA.

We are trying our best to make good product for an affordable price and take care of our customers that support us.

I think we HAVE to make the LAB 001 in a longer size... It's inevitable.

You should link up with our boy Taylor Lyman he just moved to Baker from SLC - he's good people!

Any chance of making some skis with a sintered base? I love my drifters to death but the one thing i think could be better is having a faster base. The extruded base is durable as fuck though.

Also come to Whitewater in B.C. please. I promise you'll have a good time!

After a nearly a year of saving and of going back and forth I have bought my Drifters! Now I need to save up money to go skiing...

Just got some live life's this year. cant wait to shred them next week once they are mounted. Stoked to see how they perform.

Also, i dig the whole graph/diagram of your skis flex vs charging ability on the website, definitely helped make the ski selection process easier.

I don't own any Surface skis, nor have I ever skied them, but I have a question about the 3-stage rocker on the new lifes/one lifes/other skis of yours. I was thinking about rocker shape and how the gradual, circular or elliptical rocker found on most companies' skis essentially matches a turn shape so that when you roll them over in power or on a groomer they're preflexed to the shape of a turn, not to mention pushing a ski to the top of the snow collumn in soft 3d snow. The 3-stage rocker seems like it would work well in causing flotation in deep snow by, again, pushing the ski to the top of the snow collumn, but I don't really understand what the rationale behind/the advantage of the 3 stage rocker in any other conditions. It seems to me that a ski with such extreme 3-stage rocker would ski like a snowblade on hard snow because the rockered sections would NEVER come into contact with the snow, unlike gradual rocker designs where the tips and tails engage more as you roll the ski over more. Also, it seems to me that in crud they would get slammed around more easily/not cut through choppy snow as well, although I'm sure the stiff one life flex helps with this. So my question to you is: What's the rationale behind the 3-stage rocker design and what makes it more effective/better than other rocker designs? Thanks,Isak

Will you be making the one times in a smaller size next year? or whats some other skis you make in a 160 range with rocker besides the next life

This is fresh! lovin surface and lovin the skis. just got hooked up with some no times for dirt cheap. these guys definitely know how to hook shit up

Loved my Ninelifes for 3 seasons, and after my first day on my new Joysticks from the demo sale, I love them even more. You guys rule.

We've considered it for sure. We will definitely be running a sintered base on a new park ski we are making right now.

Stoked to use my One Lifes out in Utah this season!

Also, I agree on a Northeast trip.

Tony's welcome at our house anytime. He's busy working hard as a freelance designer. He's always a part of our family regardless of what's going on in the ski industry.

3SR is not necessarily better than other rocker skis.. just a different ride all together. We thought it looked and felt cool so we went with it.

You'll have to take them for a spin one day... just for fun, ya know?

These are great. Thanks for the kind words and glad you like the skis. I think reviews like this are much more valuable than the "pay to play" reviews you see in ski mags.

Construction of them... A few questions, anything proprietary doesn't have to be answered. Just from looking at pics I'm assuming that its an all clear base and all clear topsheet. From what I see inside the ski I can't tell if you guys are using vds edge rubber or not (maybe it's the naturally coloured stuff?) and I feel like the core runs right through the tips and tails, no tipspacers? Yes, no? And the PU floormats, do they feel like they absorb a good amount of shock when riding and landing? Thanks!

Dub post by me, but when you say freelance designer... Freelance ski designer?

Know if we will see him in any future edits soon? Guy is seriously underrated IMO.

Yeah I'd really like to demo some new lifes at some point. How does the feel of a 3 stage ski compare to that of a traditionally rockered ski?
