Surface Give’r vs Upper

So I’m from the Midwest, which means I mainly hit rails and smaller kickers, but I’m looking for a ski that can handle some backcountry kickers. My priority is they be park weapons and handle rails like nobody’s business, but I also want them to be able to handle some pow.

I have narrowed my search down to the Uppers and the Give’rs. If anyone could help me out with info or steer me in the direction I should go in I’d greatly appreciate it, as well as help me with sizing.

I’m 6’0 and 185

me personally I would go with the upper if this is a more pow dedicated ski. If it’s your only ski than I would go with the giver, but if it’s a pow ski, def go upper. It’s wider and more tame, would def hold up better skiing in pow. size is kind of an issue tho, the upper doesn’t come as long as you may need, but for rails you prolly want alittle shorter so it’s your call.

Ok, yeah I’m currently skiing some ARVs that I got last year so just getting a setup more oriented towards messing around In pow and also having a rail setup makes sense. Thanks!

I would go with givers if ur going to spend most of you’re time in the park fun and playful enough in the park and also stiff enough for back country but if looking for something stiffer and better in the pow I would go with the uppers

My uppers are super fun in on rails, and they’re pretty light despite the width. They’re a pretty good landing platform and buttering platform. I’m sizing up this year, and my current uppers will now be my street/rock skis.

I picked up a pair of lightly used uppers this past summer...hand flexing they seem a lot softer than my giver's, can anyone else attest to this? I found my give'rs stiffer then marketed

Ok, I’ll probably go with the Givers just because I spend only a few days skiing any pow, and they should be able to handle that well and exceed in the park. Thanks!
