Surface and on3p

hey i need NS's opinion on the best surface pow ski,, and the on3p filthy rich as well as the surface double times.. yeah i know search bar but id just like some first hand help.. thanks!

surface makes great skis in all aspects so you cant go wrong. I've never personally skied ON3P's, but have heard nothing but rave reviews about them. As far as surface pow skis go, you really have three options

One Life (what I ski): crazy design, but these skis RIP. If you charge hard and just go HAM in any and all conditions, these are for you. I have these skis out 6/10 days. they will make it over anything in their path, and are very durable. (also fun to mess around with in the park)

New Life: Surface's fattest and only symmetrical ski. This has a lot of rocker but much more smoothly initiated than on the one life. great for backcountry jibbing and skiing backcountry like its a park.

Live Life: A great more traditional pow ski that can still shred any condition. great for touring (super light, check the Live Free). If you're more of a classic backcountry skier who has to have a ski that can handle any conditions, this is a great one.

You can't really go wrong, just go with whichever best fits your style.

I can also speak for the double times, very good park ski.

Nice width, good fairly stiff stiffness, good park ski that is durable and can survive a little pow. pretty light too.

hope this helped!

Surface and ON3P are not comparable really, ON3P just makes a far better product on every level.

I think i am going with surface one life for pow skis and than for my park thrashers im going with on3p filthy riches...INPUT ANYONE?

just get caylors, they are built better, have a better design, ski better, made in the USA by NS mods, and will have a higher re-sell value should you choose to sell them (even though they will last you for years)

This. I have Caylors and I think I can safely say they are the best skis I have ever owned. I have not skied Surface but ON3P makes great products. Could not recommend them enough.

new lifes. best ski ever. double times are great too. they shred the park, and rip all mountain as well.

i have surface newlifes and they look sick but i have yet to ride them. and i have notimes for park and i love them, best ski i have ever owned, deffinatly recomend both of them, i am looking to get filthyriches for next season. cheers

Then get the Jeffreys.

Direct from ON3P site:

...the Jeffrey is our premier all mountain jib ski.

At 108mm underfoot, they are wide enough to provide float and stability in soft snow, but are skinny enough to carve effortlessly on hardpack and are light enough to throw around with ease in the air. Get after the fresh and filled in lines in the morning, float lazy rotations off drops or booters midday, and cut into the park for a few laps to refresh your rail game, all without stopping for lunch or having to go back to the car to switch skis.

So it looks like that's what you need.

I was up filming with Vincent Charette today, echo that stompability thing. 450's out and Bio 9's went down on the new 181 Jeffrey. Really stoked on the Jeffrey, but I was on Caylors for the slow stuff out of bounds.

Caylor = 148-120-140

New Life = 151-122-151

They're both on the stiffer side of a medium flex and are very similar in terms of "jibbiness". Having skied both, the Caylor feels smoother, more poppy, can stomp easier, and can go faster. The New lifes feel more planky, still poppy, but feel kinda twitchy both in the air and hauling ass.

They actually ski quite similar, but the Caylors feel a bit better, I'd say that the Caylors are more confidence inspiring and more versatile. On top of that, ON3P's quality of materials used and build is miles higher than Surface's..

If you're looking for a jibbier option, you could get the Caylor Lite which has a softer flex than the regular Caylor or look at the Jeffery as mentioned above.
