pro surfers wear this type of shirt to be recognized in competitions. is there a special name for these?

I tried on google to look for them by typing surf shirts but could only find hawain shirts and tshirts with surf stuff on it.

does any one know the name of these and where I can find them

Are you seriously going to wear a rash guard? Or did you just need to know?

-at least you went down naked-

please please please dont just go out wearing rashguards around. save youself an ass kicking, k?

and also, they are typically worn to prevent rashes from rubbing too much on the wax of your board or chaffing on your wetsuit (the big black outfit made out of neopreme). you can order them all over online, try www.swell.com or www.surfline.com

get an oniells one, i'd say. they make them in lycra and neopreme. my best one is neopreme on the chest so i dont get surfers knots and has this special fabric under the arms, so i can paddle faster. i wear that one during paddle races. other thaan that i wear a UV protecting one from Oneills if anyting at all.

guy at SkiShop SC to me: "Why is there sand in your bindings?"

I wear them for like the first two-weeks. Then I realize that my nipple hair is going to be ripped out anyway, and just give up and stop wearing them. They get really rank if you just leave the salt-water in them and let them dry out in the sun.... so take care of it.

i live nowhere near surfing...

well im not planning on wearing one around. that would be weird. im just moving back to California (LA for the Summer and probably going to go to Mamoth for the Winter) and during the Summer I want to get back into surfing. I just couldnt remember the name of those things.

I own one for when we visit my family in Santa Cruz but thats the only time it comes out of the draw(that and halloween)

But I saw a kid wearing one at a local club once(in ohio mind you) All i could do was laugh !!

tim dude, you gotta wear one around. a flash hot green or blue one man. that'd be so dope.

stick that in your pipe and smoke it!

reppin' the dfp

keep it real.

they are good for surfing because you don't get sunburned... I still have surfer's knots, though. (little knobs on the bottom of my ribcage where I lie on the board)

The main reason I would wear one is for sun protection... sunscreen is fucking irritating to deal with.

Rash guards are the tighter, form-fitting shirts you wear to prevent chafing/rashes from the wax.

I bought a different DaKine Surf Shirt and used it in Costa Rica last year. It's similar to a T-shirt but uses a fast drying fabric that lets the water drain though. It protects against the sun and rashes but fits looser like just a regular T. The cool thing is that it doesn't weigh you down as you're paddling, contrary to what you may think.

Don't wear a rashguard if you arent surfing. Please don't be a kook. (Hawaiian word for someone who doesnt ruf but would wear a rashguard or something to that effect.)
