Surefoot custom liners.

Has anyone gone this route and had success? I was watching someone get fitted and pumped up today and it looked really intriguing and hits the same price point as a Zipfit. How does the performance and durability compair? I havent heard them mentioned much here anyone have any thoughts or opinions on em?

After skiing a lot of others, zip, intuition, etc, I'll never ski anything other than their foam customs. It's pricey but I generally get 400ish days out of them and the feel and performance is unmatched for me. As a note, they generally work better on a traditional style boot rather than the FT style, so that could be a hang up for some on here.

NS will never sacrifice style for practicality

Ive seen them fit tons of full tilts and now K2s 3 piece boot. They set them up with high end liners with heating and do the molding there when you buy em. Nearly 1/8th of surefoots inventory was K2s 3 pieces where im at.

I was just curious how the cork infections zipfit does compair to the surefoot fitting system. Ive seen people get 1000 days out of a zipfit so 400 isnt really that great especially if you have to pay for molding sessions. But if the performance is better Ide be intrested.

I've heard of both great success stories and tragic failures with custom surefoot foam liners. What Craig from Patriot Footbeds said was that the success of custom foam liners is 100% dependent on how sober/skilled the tech performing the job is. If they are inexperienced and screw up the injection, you can end up with a very poorly fitting liner. I think this gives the advantage to Zipfit as you can add material later as needed.

Good to know. For me it's just a preference. I'm going into my 3rd season on my current foams so about the 300 day mark - they feel fine still. I actually cracked both shells last season (lange xt3 130) and surefoot replaced them cost free.

This 100%. Same with any ski tech. The "shop messed up my mount" threads are relevant to boot fitting as well. My local SF is great but I know a few people who have had to redo a fit mid season. Here they guarantee it so it's free work to fix it. For me it was about 3 days of pain and adjusting until they settled in and I found the sweet spot. I work in ski boots and I don't even notice they're on most of the time, which is the point. Only time they are unbuckled is at the end of the day at the bar. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. Their Bluetooth heat system is fkn money for sure though.
