eventually we will have jumps at crystal but for the first year or two its going to be just mainly jibs to get a feel for how the park is going to be. i want jumps just as bad as anyone else, and everyone at the mt. knows how people feel about the park just letting you know eventually it will happen just have to give them some time to feel out how this is all going to work first.TC

this, every park needs park passes, keeps shit head little kids out of the park as well as old gapers

+k. as long as your not cutting people off or sitting right below the knuckle or any where else that is in the line of fire. Gapers are just people trying to have fun.

Thanks! I totally agree. Sitting below the knuckle is unacceptable unless you're unconscious.

Respect and situational awareness are huge parts in learning to ride park. Both my son and I have fucked up before. We've also been cut off as well. It accidentally happens from time to time. And when it does, take a deep breath, and realize that it might have been the 32 year old, 210lbs, over protective, former Marine that fell in love with sking as part of his rehab for PTSD.

If everybody was more supportive instead of riding around like they're the next hot steamy shit to be laid upon the ski industry then everybody would progress so much faster.

I love this sport, I love skiers, and I have decided that it is the perfect way to spend time with my family. But some of the attitudes I see and hear on the mountain and in these forums are rediculous. Maybe I'm out of touch, but I can't seem to understand why skiing has to be so serious.

^ Plus K for this guy, from a fellow "Old Gaper" that has been riding the park badly for years. I do know how to make my way through though as well as when I'm instructing I talk to the kids about where to be.

Some day, you meddling kids (scooby doo voice) will be old too!

haha, all in fun.

Park passes give you some recourse when people are acting dangerously. You dont want to kick your customers off the mountain, but you dont want some customers endangering the others. Its a mistake not to have them~

ya its also a big insurance issue because they need to be able to hold a certain amount of people in the ski patrol room and also have the proper training so thats in the plans next couple years to build bigger ski patrol shack. n also you have to remember takes a lot of money to start a park, n jumps would of been big dirt show to pre build them this summer.. we just got to be happy with what we got now and live with it. because just about two years ago a park wasnt even on the managers mind. lateTC

I hate park passes, yeah it keeps gapers out but they wont have the balls to hit any of the features that we wud b on so they wont b fallin down and makin traffic and as long as they maintain the park we dont need to worry about them goin over the side of the run ups to rails

this. I totally am for park passes, however i think there should be a standard for all washington state resorts, because if i come to a new mountain and have to wait an hour until the next class and i already have a park pass for another mountain, that pisses me off

crazy, it makes sense though, snoqualmie is notorious for retarded snowboarders who are way out of control and dangerous

i think hes talking about when that dude overshot a closed off jump by like a million feet and died...it was a while ago, maybe 5 years?

You are an idiot if you can't see the importance of park pass. You are probably the dad that tries to fight kids because they "almost hit my kid" on his way to jump off the "rail jump"...

It has nothing to do with Dads, Gapers, or age. It has to do with ignorant fucks who stand in dumb places or jump shit at 1000mph then sue the resort for negligence.

hahahhaahha WAY OFF

Dude straighlined into an OPEN jump, the first "jump" in the top of central park. He pointed it from the top gate into a 15 to 20 ft jump. He almost made it to the inrun of the next jump...

He is quadrapalegic or parapalegic. Thats why they sued, he was/is still alive and got $14 million out of the 30 that he sued for.

Thats why those jumps aren't there anymore ever.

If you read the thread you will see that I am for a park pass. Therefore, you are too an idiot. The purpose isn't to keep kids out, its to make kids safe.

and thanks for paraphrasing what i just said. "it's not about age" it's about ignorant fucks. AKA people who call others idiots because they are in support of a fairly proven program. Regardless of they're reasoning.

You sound exactly like the dad I am talking about. Get madder at me dad! Anyone under the age of 25 is an idiot!!! WOOO

You are retarded. If you read the thread then you would see that I support park passes, and have the whole thread. Anyways, I'm done with this thread. I'm happy as shit right now. Its snowing in the mountains, I just got new bindings, skied the Paradise Glacier the day before yesterday for my fall ski fix, and youre still an idiot. Wooo

NorthWest Rocks!

Cheers!

i am for park passes, but only if they cost money, its retarded to think that a 3 minute class where you are told that you have to be safe is going to do anything.

hmmm..i dunno if there were two different accidents, but i swear the one i'm talking about happened at West, and it was a jump built for a film crew (Forum i think)...anyway the jump was super big and super closed off, and the guy was like "watch this..."

nah that dude died, i was there that day. i'm not sure of exactly what the guy who sued did but the dude your talking about was a webski instructor and he died like a minute after impact

omg i remember that, it was before i did park and i was a gaper, but i remember the next day finding out that the night before some guy had died while i was skiing there. The cool thing was there was a helicopter

A kid DID die on a jump, but that was after.

The guy who sued for 30 and won 14 was named Kenny Salvini If i remember correctly. (sort of amazed i remember that much)

Same thing happened at Bachelor last season, no lawsuit though? This kid had never been in a park before & he overshot the landing and broke his back and the tail of his board. We passed him right after he landed & his friend was yelling for help, it was crazy. I talked to his friend on the chairlift the next day & he said the kid will probably not grow anymore but luckily he wasn't paralyzed.
