Supplements and Skiing

I see pretty widespread supplement use in the majority of most other sports, but I’ve almost never seen it used for skiing. From my experience most skiers have either never thought of it or seem against it.

What about you? What are your thoughts on supplement use in our sport? Would you buy a supplement that:

-Increased your endurance and energy using the correct ratio of complex and simple carbohydrates (quick acting then long lasting energy)

-Decreased muscle and joint fatigue

-Improved ability to perform in high altitudes

-Improved cognitive and brain function

The purpose of this thread is just for personal interest….I think it’s a pretty cool subject

Well if you are talking about adderall, than its much better skiing experience. I feel much more focused and I actually feel myself doing the tricks. Spotting ladings ect... is also much easier.

I would recommend glucosamine to skiers because it does help with joint health (knees are a big one). Also I've found emergen-c helps with hangovers and getting the day started.

I think a big part of using supplements is just keeping your body healthy so you can perform. A good multivitamin helps a lot along with glucosamine/fish oil and vitamin c when you need it

Supplements like protein or glutamine would actually help your leg muscles recover a lot of skiing, since they take a beating out there. A lot of other supplements help to increase overall health too, so that's a plus. Unfortunately though supplements are expensive and a lot of skiers are broke

For a period of time I got in the habit of breaking my fingers...which was fun an' all - but after some research I started taking a bone building supplements w/Strontium. No breaks since than, could be a coincidence but I've taken some pretty nasty impacts with no real consequence. Seems to be worth a shot

I have no clue what they're called but I found some lactic acid reducer pills at my local shop and they are cash in the middle of a long day

A quality cycle wiukd be hugely beneficial. But if we're only talking bout legal stuff, cratine is on par with weed and adderall in terms of life changing drugs for me. Creation is THE MOST STUDIED supplement ever and time and time again has proven to be safe and extremely effective. I love that shit.

A prewirkout is typically how I get my morning started. One else on the lift rude up gets me ready to go HAM. Fuck yeah buddy!

Trust me, stop taking preworkout. The stims in a pre workout will have noticable negative effects on your body faster than you think. I've been seriously lifting for about 2 years now and I say this with experience and not just "book smarts". Creatine is fine, but taking shit like OMR, C4 etc is so bad for you its ridiculous.

Eat a balanced diet and drink beer with your mates, that's all you need. I've been growing veg now for the last few years, get honey from my mums bees and catch as much of my meet as possible. Never felt better or been in better shape in my life. Supplements are way overrated.

You've been lifting for a whole 2 years??? Wowzers!

Specifically, how is C4, or Assault, or NoXplode " so bad for you its ridiculous"?

Please. Explain. Anecdotal evidence doesn't count.

Im too lazy to find and cite studies, but if you think there are no adverse effects of taking that many stimulants you are in for a rude awakanening in a couple months.

In moderation they are fine, but taking a preworkout every day to wake you up is only going to lead to health problems.

I hope your girl likes stim-dick.
