Superunknown VI Finalists Announced

austin torvinen for sure. i liked how his edit was more just like look at my style and a sneak peek on my bag of tricks instead of showcasing every single pretzel combination you know.

i think he would definitly be the best with what Level 1 will have set up at their park shoot.
 
Oskari should take it, c'mon, perfect style that flows and is original, compared to three quarters of these vids...

BUT the only video that really made me say "Yeah" out loud was Austin Torvinen's. Video not too long, not every variation of tricks in there but still the showcasing of the hardest ones leading one to see that maybe he can do easier stuff as well. Just overall really creative vibe, although it was just park. But a park shoot is where the winner is headed this year, so don't be picky.
 
i definitly agree that his urbans could be in a pro movie, but the winner of this isn't going on an urban excursion with Level 1, they're going to a park shoot, and i think they were better park skiing entries.
 
Seriously. What happened to originality in style?

The videos look the same. Talent is obvious, but people aren't using that talent to make themselves distinctive, and instead are chasing after this afterbanging xxxxxxl image.

Luczkow for the win, for doing something different and making me wish I was skiing where he has been.
 
If Laker got that good only skiing in Indiana, then he deserves to get super known. Waldo shirt FTW!

I completely agree with both of you the ones that really stood out from the others were compton wyble and luczkow other than that I thought I was watching the same edit over and over. On another note yes chris laker fucking slays but for some reason I feel that someone older deserves it a little more, I mean the kid is 15 he has so much time still but that just my opinion.
 
laker has the skills, his home resort has a vertical of 400 feet, so when he gets out west he will kill it.

Luka Melloni must be loved where he skis cause those features at the begininning must have taken a long time to build for him
 
hey newbtard, most of Comptons banger urban was in his last year superunknown and it seemed to me the majority of his on mth. rails had to of been in the MINI park.
 
meh im sick of seeing the same shit over and over. most of those kids ski the exact same. Luscow is the most orginal and can shred everything. he would be great for level 1's backcountry shit. luscow for the win! and was TOM Warnicks supposed to be a joke? because that afterbang shit looked so bad it looked like he was an erection on every landing
 
Chris Logan is probably the most qualified to be filming with level 1 no doubt. Kid straight murders and has proven himself in competitions. I think he gets paid sooo that means he can't win.
Will Berman should definitely be a contender. He has good tricks and good style.
Holson's was dope. Great style, spinning both ways on jumps and rails. Unnaty stuff in the BC too, should def have a good shot.
Mcchess too. Everything was solid and had dope handrails.

There were a couple videos though that I couldn't stand watching because of the fucking afterbanging. look like fucking idiots
 
I Haven't watched all the video's But here is my perspective so far.
Ian Compton- Hurray! I love that he is not super ganster and just looks like he is having a good time, unfortunately his jumping skills are not up to par.
Tim McChesney-Super sick all around, If he does not win Superunknown he will def be going places.
Chris Laker- OMG! he is so sick! pretty much got it all on lock, although I don't think that him growing up in indiana should influence anything because his park looks so sick. No entries should be based on where they are from
Austin Torvinen- I was stoked on this one probably my favorite one so far he just had style and didn't act all, I donno he was legit and those flat 7's were just ridculous! Love em'!
Tom Warnick- Rails on lock and jumps Afterbang was too forced too thug couldn't even finish watchin the edit cause it annoyed me how much it looked like he was just trying to make everything loook balla. But it is about the tricks so I guess it was good.
That's all I have seen.
 
Here are my thoughts.

Laker kid is good, but not ready for Level 1 park shoot.

Warnick, great skier, perfect for level 1 image.

Holson had a great video, and would also be perfect.

Mchesney had the urban skills of a god. But, they will be at a park shoot and not on an urban trip.

Sean Jordan shot is edit over a couple hours. Doesnt showcase all of his talent, but shows enough of him to make Berman think, "A couple days with a camera and a great park, maybe seany j"

Personally, either Sean Jordan or Andrew Holson would be perfect for filming with Level 1.
 
soo many good entries..... chris logan murders, kids got style. charlie owens is gonna be good, will berman kills.... tim mcchesneys was also dope
 
gotta say, the buzz and comments around this superunknown are pretty WEEEAK... last year, the finalists thread was like 7 pages long in a day.. this year, way better entries, and what? nothin much bein said...
 
I feel like this whole contest is outta whack this year. Like people have said everything is the same. I did not watch one edit fully because there is nothing NEW. And again with the music. Holy shit. If I could make one rule for superunknown I would ban fuckin RAP/HIP-HOP in your edit.
 
let me clarify... i think the edits are outstanding this year! i'm just wondering why very few people have even less to say about them...
