Who do you think is going to take the title of this year's superunknown? For my part I think Jacob Belanger will win, the kid got so much steez

I would like to see Jesse Desjardins take the W this year. He's a local where I'm from and I've seen him throw some crazy shit down... I wonder how he'll do under pressure.
 
It’ll be tight between Belanger and Zahner. Rooting for Belanger cuz he’s an east coaster like me, but wouldn’t be surprised to see either take the crown

Keyser is impressing me the most since he goes way bigger than everyone else Ive seen from L1s insta feed. dude laces shit up but I definitely wanna see Belanger do well
 
Would be insane to see Jacob take it. His style reminds me of Keegan and Jake Carney, and he's only 17 I think
 
Heath had a ton of shots of Zahner and Bellanger, dont know whether thats cuz they were throwing down the hardest or they just happened to be filmed more, but seen a lot of epic stuff from them. Both sick styles

Genuinely curious as to why this got so many downvotes. Is it because Hess is considered too well known for the superunknown, after being in the slvsh cup + other slvsh games? Or do people just hate his style? I recall hearing quite a few people complaining about his style when the slvsh cup was going on.

Yeah people seem to forget that Hess is a really young pipe jock whose style will age like fine wine
 
Based solely on the first edit it looks like it's going to be really tight between Sam, Remco and Jacob. Sam went fully buck wild so he might have an advantage since everything he did was nuts, but those 3 stood out with big tricks and insane style. Really stoked to watch parts 2 and 3!
 
Can't believe no ones mentioned Simon Bartik yet he absolutely crushed it in the first edit! based on that my money's on either him or Belanger
 
For me it’s gotta be Sam but from the way the edit was made it seems like they’re really feeling Simon and he killed it too so if I had to guess I’d put my money on either of those two
 
Zahner has been going off but IMO isn't what Level 1 is looking for. If they wanted to film with him, they would have already picked him up after the first superunkown finals he went to or after the 15th time he was a semi-finalist. Joel seems like a low-key dark horse that could take it based on how Oliver Karlberg came in last year and won. Remco seems like the solid type of skier that Level 1 likes to film with.

Too bad being "not the person level 1 wants to film with" isnt a factor when it comes to super unknown. If he wasnt somebody they would like to flim with, they wouldnt have selected him as a finalist. The winner is determined by a vote from the group of finalists at the end of the week, not who josh berman wants to win.

You also have to remember that he got hurt at his last final and came in injured, to begin with. Zahner seems like a great fit for level 1 tbh especially after proving himself in 70/30

Hess would be terrible in a Level 1 film. Kid has boring/sloppy style and just hucks everything. Like he is a good skier, don't get me wrong - he can huck allll the big tricks... but he ain't on it like the style god film bosses are.
 
Sam Zahner for sure, even though he is by far the least "super unknown" there . The kid should have won SU a long time ago... hard pressed to find a non comp/huge name pro skier that has been consisntaly ripping as hard as him, season after season, for the last 5+ years. Kid drops straight hammers all day every time he clicks in

Okay on the real though why is Hunter Hess even in superunknown he was in fucking slvsh cup and is like on the US ski team

I went back and watch parts one and two in succession and the number of B-Roll shots they gave to Simon was wayyy out of proportion to everyone else... maybe level one is hinting at something....

I don't think so, I love how aggressive Hunter's skiing is and he has a ton of creative non-huck trick selections. I think comp skiers are just stigmatized and people think they can't be stylish. To argue my case:

I find it very interesting how different hunters style is compared to a lot of other bachelor riders. Jonah Elston, jake mageau, Nash Lisac and Oscar weary all have very loose nonchalant smooth styles where hunter’s skiing is very poised, controlled and technical. Reminds me a lot of Alex Hall. I don’t find his skiing to be robotic or “not stylish” by any means. Very very talented skier. Im not rooting for him to win this year because I reaalllllyy want Jacob Belanger to win but I wouldn’t mind seeing him do projects or park shoots with level 1 or good company. Hope to see him get opportunities to express his creativity.

I also also find it funny that during slvsh cup people were like “who is this kid?” And now are complaining about him being too known for the competition lol. NS never fails.

I agree I Feel like Zahner or Jacob shoulda won. You can even tell Zahner thought he shoulda won in the last shot of the group when they’re all standing together and he’s just off on the side by himself
 
honestly if level 1's is trying to pick someone to film with, it should be jacob belanger. But big ups to remco, if he got the most votes than clearly he was crushing it
 
Just from what I could tell I think Zahner should have won. That being said, Remco seems like a super nice dude and a killer skier to hang out with for a week which probably swayed how the group voted.
 
Simon Bartik just got better through the recap edits, would have loved to see him in a Level 1 movies.

Zaner crushed it as well and I thought he was gonna win.

Remco was also killer, zero mute was epic and he looked so honoured and about to burst into tears so fair enough!!

Epic Superunknown though
