Will is fucking disgusting, and on rails when everyone catches wind as to what ahmet dadali has been up to this winter......wow, same level as wallisch
 
honestly the name of this comp should be changed to "Somewhatunknown" because the only peeps that have a chance are basically fully sponsored. It's a cool idea for sure, but instead of having the video contest, maybe have a real contest on a mountain in steeps/cliffs/rails/jumps where you can actually see people in real life. Film that, make it like a 3 day contest and you will truly find a real unknown. Some dude who just kills it without a single hookup all of a sudden getting the mad hookup is what skiing needs alot of right now.
 
skiing isn't cool enough to appreciate him! people would rather see 270 on 270 out of a down rail than nollie tail danish, sw 10 mute instead of sw 7 shifty that is effortless, etc...yahoo skiing! lol.
 
jea for sure that would be dope. but you might not find someone good enough to be in a level one movie like that. and a lot of the people may have a sponsor or two but its probably for like a pair fo goggles or something
 
holly fuck me pink the salt lake stuff was sick, has anyone noticed that the relatively "unknowns" everyone from Tom W to mike hornbeck are the best urban skiers out there.

to whoever said questioned toms video: I just dont understand you....he is pushing the progression of preztels further than anyone I've ever seen. I mean its absolutly amazing. I would never have though 450 diasters to preztel 270s out would have been possible on rails until tom came along. He pushing preztels so far that I think in the next two years we are really gonna see a progression push on rails and this is exactly why tom should be superunknown b/c of his contribution to a change in newschool that will help progress the sport a lot.
 
park boxes are level 0 not level 1.... his low consequence handrails, and jumps from the side probably are not level 1 style... especially no poles.... (YEP I SAID IT!)
 
I'd like to see more big mountain and pipe out of all the entrants. Since when did pure jibbing make up the best unknown skiers? these kids are being baby-sat by rails and tables... try riding the chair that goes to the top of the mountain and doing a right switch butter 7 off a cornice...or even just back-flipping the cornice to begin with. sure pretzels are tech and require a lot of practice, but given enough time there are lots of athletic little kids who can learn them... going to the big mountain and doing tricks is where skill, balls, composure and pure talent really comes through.
 
couldnt say it better.... NO EXCUSES Anywhere out west you can hike off the side of the road and hit jumps, if anything its cheaper than park, its true so end the whole excuse about not having a sled, not having access, etc....

I heard you can hike up grizley gultch pretty easily....
 
i concur... there's no doubt that tom, ahmet and all these other superunknown guys have tons of talent on rails and airs.. micheal clarkes video from last year had some sick pipe stuff in it, but i'd like to see an edit with some dope big mountian stuff...
 
well the idea of being unknown is that you dont have a lot of resources at your disposal, so parks and urban jibbin is where they rock it. I may be totally off, but I think level one just wants to fine people with mad skills, then they can put them in the back country and let them loose. and fuck pipe, but that's just cuz I'm bad at it. not really sure why it gets so ignored, but I personally dont care about that.

I'm not totally disagreeing with you though some sick bc booters and mini golf shit would definately be nice to see.
 
so level 1 hits rails straight on? dont think so buddy. nobody does that, unless were talking about something different from handrails, inwhich i would look like a retard
 
well, maybe if it would have snowed enough to actually ski powder and backcountry before the superunknown movie was due, there would be some in there. Unfortunately, there wasn't ever enough snow
