Super young kids with cells?

Ok, i guess this is gonna make me feel old, but the other day i was walking in the mall gonna go get me some noodles at the bento box. Anyways everywhere i turn there are these little 12-15 year old kids with cell phones EVERYWHERE. Not to be an ass but why do kids that age need cell phones, and fucking expensive ones at that....like razers and shit.

I dunno i guess im part of the last generation to use the pay phone i guess. The big question i have to ask is what do kids that age have to talk about with their friends on cell phones anyways. I see the point of it being good for the parents to keep in touch and shit but its not like billy needs to keep a line on his hoes all the time to make money. So what does everybody think about this?

Pretty much everyone around here gets a cell phone between 7th and 9th grade. Im in 9th and I dont know anybody who doesnt own one

my moms a teacher, and she works at an elementary school. she says kids there have them, thats means at oldest they are 10. fucking rediculous

But how else will there parents know where to pick the kids up, I mean they dropped them off somewhere, and the kids are too fat to make a far distance in a 3hr period at the mall, so really there isnt a point to them having cells

That’s ridiculous for kids that young to "need" a

cell phone. But hey, if their parents want to pay for it than good.

Might as well help the economy. Hopefully their kids don't develop brain

tumors.

yeah i dunno...like i just bought a cell phone like 6 months ago. I bearly ever use it. Its soo hard to get a cell that just sends a receves calls. The guy at the store didn't understand what i ment when i said that. " You want a phone that just sends and gets calls? Thats weird." Like i don't need a camera, or Mp3, or texts, or internet. I just want something to call my mom on once a week, or something that i can reached on in an emergency.

Yeha, cell phones arnt phones anymore, they are future gadgest. next step is cellular implant, so you can txt without your hands.

yeah i know im not old im almost 17 and i still use payphones and shit, i used to work at the mall and i would even see kids that are no older then 12 by themselves and talking on cell phones. Like wtf?

Im grade 11 and i don't have a cell phone if I need to phone my parents I use the pay phone. Almost everyone at my school has ne though.

I know!! Little kids in like 6th grade have them. i have one but im 15 and i have to bum rides from people all the time. Like now there getting the phones for little little kids, everyone is getting sooo dependant these days.

i was flying to miami a couple weeks ago and this kid on the plane had a razr and was playing games on it. He couldn't have been older than 10, and I bet you he doesn't even use it that much. That's what, 5th grade i think? Prety rediculous. Im a senior and I still have my phone I got freshman year. I don't really use it much, i'll bring it with me when I go someplace, but i don't really care too much. Some of the people in my classes are rediculous, they text and call each other in school and stuff, and literaly couldn't live without thier cell phones. Grow up please.... I lost my phone on sunday and I didn't even notice till today.

It's getting to be pretty ridiculous. This girl was arguing with my teacher the other day because of the new phone policy. Her argument was that it wasn't her fault because it is part of our generation and we need it. How fucking weak is that? I was about to bitch slap her in the face for being so fucking retarded. I hate how so many people have become soo dependent on phones, I don't like the notion that I can be found anytime and anywhere by anybody because I have a phone. Some people freak out that they cant survive a single day without a phone. I got my phone at the end of sophmore year and I hate carrying it around. First of all theyre soo easy to break and secondly I dont even use it that much. At most maybe once every couple of days. Its mainly for emergencies.

my cousin is 3rd grade, 3rd fucking grade and she has a better cell phone than me, ha. but all she uses it for is to call her mom everytime her brother does something hes not allowed to.

its soo stupid. if everyone has em you can just use somebody elses or a pay phone. thats what i do. its also so spoiled to have your parents pay for it. all these little kids have their parents buy them cell phones. id soo much rather just have twenty dollars a month. if your old and responsible enough to pay for it yourself, and you still want it, i consider it ok. but if you're a kid having your parents pay, its retarted.

i'm a junior in high school, and i just got one. I don't even call anyone on it except for when i need a ride home from somewhere. Some little kid "needing" one is rediculous

your retarded. im 15 and i use my cell phone pretty much evertime i go skiing. People who cant drive (like me) almost need them more than people who can. Just so you know, you can get razors for $0 now when you sign up for a plan. so dont say that they are expensive

and thats why your retarded

Im a freshman in high school and I got one this year because I need to get in touch with my parents because I go to a private school. I use it for other things, but thats the reason I got it.

And its not a razor or fancy or anything. I got like the most basic phone in the store.

pay phone you silly bitch.....why would parents leave their kids alone now anyways. WTF.... the cell phone isn't a fucking baby sitter. Its just a gadget. And to ontarioripper no offence that is BS and you know it. My rents would drop me off at the hill, and they knew when to pick me up. No bullshit. If anything happened, i would use the pay phone they had, or ask super nicely to use their phone.

Seriously, its not like your a paramedic or a doctor and people need to reach you right away. When i was on-call for an aviation job i had they gave me a pager and i was set. Kids don't need cell phones.

I have never owned a cell phone and I find it funny when my city friends can't believe that i'm able to operate without one. Our family has one cell phone and it usually stays in the vehicle that is going on the longest trip, essentially for emergencies.

I still use payphones all the time and im really not that old, I figure i've saved myself a lot of cash over the years by inserting 25cents into a phone rather than text at 25cents a pop.

i got one in 6th grade. My school was a local hippy Montessori school and the only classrooms they could afford were shared with The Arc (or Star of the Earth or something, I cant remember which), a juvenile detention education center. Fights, hostage situations and other misc. gnarly scenarios would go down all the time and we'd be put on lockdown so i got a phone to a) call the cops and b) call my parents.

on another note, the main campus of my school was across the fence of another JD school and they used to throw watermelon and burritos over the fence at us.

yea im nearly 20 now i got my first phone when i was 14 i think.. hardly ever used it that much then then this plan came out where you would get 1000 texts per month for $10. gotta be honest i never call people on my phone except for when im working and out on a job and need to find something out straight away. i send about 500 texts a month but mainly to my girlfriend any other texts i send or get are all from my mates organising where we're gonna be drinking. it seems retarded that kids so young 'need' a cellphone. maybe they really need a kick up their selfish greedy moaning ass.

i got my first hpine when i was 14 or 13 and its so useful. elemntary school is too early though.

i got one once i got my drivers license for emergencies and etc. its an older one but i laugh when i see 11 year olds with them, its crazy

i just got a phone this summer, so this does sound rediculous, though there's always the possiblility that they are borrowing their parents cell phone, i know i did that a few times in high school when i knew i was going somewhere with an indefinite end time and no house phone.

Bah, my little 11-year-old brother has a Razor phone, and now he wants an LG Chocolate. He got it for christmas when he was 10

Razrs = free with plan dude...

And i got one in sophomore year because i got a car. Its good for them to have it to be safe. I see no problem with it at all.

hahaha

you know you want a phone theo...dont play these internet games

but yeah i totally agree with the whole way too young thing. i got mine for eighth grade graduation and it really does help when you want to contact somebody. really little kids is getting rediculus though

Well no shit they have phones its common sense that they do since there younger they need to be able to talk to their parents n shit

i got my first one in 7th grdae

ya dude me too i dont see the point ill probly get one nest year tho with the most basic package

i only got my first mp3 player this week

seriously, i mean u see kids that look to young to be out by themselves with phones. my cousins kid just got one for x-mas and she only like 7 or 8 i think. I was like wtf are u doing with a phone.

man, fuck kids with cells. They don't need them to be the basic building block of all life. I mean, you don't really need cells until you're a teenager. Fuck DNA too

guys. technology is evolving like no other. cell phones should be be able to be used by whoever can use them. this way the parents can find them whenever, they can call during emergency's, and they have something to take responsibly of.

and now of days, its not like its a huge hole in the pocket.
