Super Unknown this year

Anyone else super hyped on super unknown this year? It’s felt like the best one to me in recent memory. First two recap parts have been so sick, and the crew has so many different styles. Part of the reason too is it feels like the majority of the crew really is “unknown” or not has recognized as previous years. Just cool to see a lot of skiers I recognize in my generation getting their chance

Next two recaps gotta be crazy. Cami has been going in so has Lobo, Bolinger, Dufrense and Dak to name a few. Also all the girls killing it too
 
The jump shoot is what separates the men from the boys, hopefully they even have one I think one of the super unknowns didn’t even have a jump sesh

the rail sessions are great cuz usually everyone can show what they got goin on, but you’re right the jump sesh is really where a few separate themselves and make a bid for the winner
 
The women were ripping to so fun to watch. In general most people were less know then the last couple years. I think instagram has a lot to do with it since you can see someone drop something there and bang they get well know before they film any big movie part/comp or whatever it is.
 
Third recap was my favorite so far, T bar session looked so lit, S to down was heavy and jump clips. Dufresne is absolutely killing it I think hes gotta be my favorite to win rn. Marion Balsamo also with some hitters
 
Duff takes it home! That last recap was unreal so many crazy rail tricks. Also Cami doing a backflip to flat on the hip was mental bro is a superhero the way he flies around. And that ender was ungodly heavy

Dasha Agafanova has really nice style, super similar to andy parry imo, but honestly better after bang than him, it was hype to see her get some clips
 
I think the coverage should be less edited. I’d love to see more tricks, b-roll and what not. Feel like I barely saw what went down. More documentary style

Agree and disagree, keeping the edits the way they are for sure, but adding more BTS so the community feels more a part of it would add a massive draw to the recaps

kinda thinking the same. their air sense, grabs, axis and landings were a notch above.

and they all jib beyond sliding metal.

cami was fun to watch though.

We dropped four unique recap edits with 17 TOTAL MINUTES OF SKIING... and you feel like you barely know what happened?!?!?!

Documentary style edits would require MORE editing, not less. Also they'd be boring.

Aside from that, awesome to see this thread following along with the event though... thanks for all the feedback and for watching! This year was a blast... We're trying to cook up something special for SuperUnknown 20.

One recap that’s just all b roll. I only want to see the degenerate shit that goes on after skiing. This crew looked like they had so much fun lol

17 min is a chunk in today's world. and more than we get out of audi nines. though all accounted for, it's not much over a full week with 14 or 15 riders. We barely saw some people who made the invite.

Dropping some b reels in a few weeks would probably take well to your market.

I forget, have you guys ever run a final event edit contest? Like teaming the riders with a filmer and editor to cut a 90 sec segment out of a full week... Would that be too much like JOSS?

Like you said, next year will be #20. do something cool.

They had a lot of different dimmers there this year besides the Level 1 dudes and Gavin. Maybe those guys will make their own cuts with their own footy after? Like Pierre did last year
