This documentary is nuts. Very compelling.

For those who have never heard of it. It's about a guy who goes on a 30 day McDiet. This means that he eats 3 meals at McDonalds everyday for 30 days.

The effects of this diet are quite odd as we watch him go through some critical health changes.

In general, the movie is about how the problem with obesity is continuing to grow and the corporate fast food industry is leading people down that path.

Very good movie, watch it.

Apparently he barely lived; ended up with serious arterial problems. I haven't seen the movie, but I should, if only to discourage me from ever eating fast food again (a lesson that couldn't hurt anyone).

the main point that movie made is that not onlu is mcdonalds food really really fattening its also that the quality of food is so poor that it caused the guy some pretty serious liver damage

Whaley joked that she wishes Spurlock would have chosen to make his point at an Emeril Lagasse restaurant. Nevertheless, the 49-year-old animal trainer from New Hampshire required herself to try every single item on McDonald's menu at least once, including Egg McMuffins, Big Macs and her favorite 'dairy and vegetable meal' — you know, french fries and a chocolate shake.

But instead of pigging out and conserving energy like Spurlock, she limited herself to about 1,800 calories a day and continued her normal exercise routine of doing aerobics and rollerblading.

Admittedly overweight going in, Whaley lost 13 pounds and lowered her overall cholesterol level by 40 points. Shedding fat this way, she said, was easier than 'in the real world,' partly because McDonald's nutritional information brochures helped her evaluate what she put in her mouth.

The fact is that most people do not watch their weight. That person stayed under 1800 calories a day. In order to stay under 1800 calories a day, one must make some pretty self-conscious of what they eat.

Lets say the avg. person will enter McDonalds and order a Big Mac Combo (med. fries, medium coke). It is still well over 1000 calories in that meal alone.

It is very easy to diet. All one needs to do is watch their calories.

The problem is that most meals at McDonalds are well over the recommended intake and contain very little nutrition.

its true that she lost weight and such, but i can guarantee you that she is malnourished in the sense of vitamins and stuff.

and the majority of people dont go to macdonalds to watch their weight, they go for a double qp with bacon.

and spurlock didnt just sit there and let himself get fat, but he didnt exercise. he just led the exact same lifestyle he did before.

summertime...and the living's easy.....*
