Super Pipe at boyne mt

They are not just cutting a pipe at the mountain, they just bought two new Pipe Dragons, A Super Pipe for the Mountain, and a smaller one for the highlands... But that is not it... Sit back and get ready...

They are also in the mist of buying somewhere between 50 to 70 rails and box rails. But from what I hear they are looking at Box rails with lights in them, so at night time they will light up and possible light up as you slide over them.

They are talking as well in making a Mammoth Wall at the highlands.

This year they are trying to become the Biggest Park by double than any other park in the midwest. They will be the Mammoth of the Midwest.

All this with sponsors as well, I know they have talked to Oakley, K2, Armada and Quite a few other to help sponsor the park!

The superpipe at the mountain will be moved to the front of the hill, along with the terrain park. The earth work is done. It will be serviced by the high-speed lift. New snowmamaking, lighting, and an 18ft zaugg with the 4ft extension piece for making 22ft quarter pipes are going to be happening at the mountain. The rails will go through a rotation so the park wont get stale. The highlands will be getting a 13ft Zaugg plus more rails. The highlands might end up with 30+ rails and there is talk of making a terrain park on the Amys run.

 
worst place for mountains park... the hill is good but that lift is so fucking busy. and i don't think they will maintain all that shit.

I just got an Email from Bittersweet Mountain Resort and it said that bittersweet will be open all summer long next year due to the new snow guns. New to the park this seaon: Loop rail w/ gap at top, A scale replica of Chads gap, and a 65 cliff. This shit is gonna be so damn hot. Just wait until Camp Bittersweetness. When boyne has it set up good, I will ride my pet iguana and sessoin with it.

I have no reason to lie, nothing to gain by that. I am just relaying what is going on around here.. I hope boyne makes it as big as they say we need it in this area...

 
If that happens to Boyne, do you think they'd consider have the Spring Board meeting there? Or do you think Highlands will still be just as good?

Ok again I just heard some more info on this....

From what I understand Boyne Mountain will have the longest 1/2 pipe in North America

May sound to good to be true but hey if it really happens this could be the dopes thing to happen in michigan freeride...
 
i don't think they have enough vert. for that do they? they have them 500 ft. out west haha about the height of boyne.
 
i know for a fact the halfpipe is happening because i work for boyne...i haven't heard a damn thing about 30292 rails at highlands tho. even if it's true they'll set them up like shit. oh well, hope for the best.
 
I've never waited that long.. maybe during the holidays. I just cant wait to get up there mid week in the morning when no one's there.. super pipe to myself :)

Im always negative cuz i can be. I already ski at the best place in the midwest, and I still hate it, the midwest sucks, not even worth trying to make boyne good, the terrain on both runs is horrible for a park.
 
I have heard of some of these announements from Mike Crwaford, who was an MM AFFILIATES and my enployee last year and is now grooming Park w/ Wagner at the Highlands.

I have absolutely no reason to believe that they will be the best park in the MIDWEST though, they have to be US and thats not going to happen, even Crawford himself believes it.

If and Only IF all this stuff happens; will they even compete with our rail stock and wall ride size and most importantly JUMP SIZE. If I ever see them build a 100 foot wide by 80 foot long jump I woud Shit my pants.

GOOD LUCK BOYNE and HIGHLANDS, but you have a big challange ahead of you...one I'm not to worried about you succeeding.

I'm just happy they are FINALLY TRYING. Its a step in the right direction. It may take them another year or two to get it right but progression is the key. I hope to see you ALL there. We should get a newschoolers session going one day this year.. get some runs, drink some beers.. Anyone down? I just bought my freequent skier card today.. 10 bucks off all lift tickets and a week of free skiing! January 2-6. Only 50 bucks. Check it out.

i am so down. me and my friends are renting a condo up at boyne jan 21(i believe). Were gonna get 10 peeps together and go up there and stockpile the booze before we head up and just ski, drink, sleep, ski, drink, sleep, ski. Were just there for 3 days, 2 nights, but its gonna be awesome. If anyones around there during that time, your more than welcome to hook up with us in the park that day and if ur cool then u can come back to our condo and party with us. Its all good with me and im sure none of my friends are going to mind.
