Super Light Skis?

Looking for some super light park skis, like around 160cm or so. Can someone please throw some names of some light skis at me please.Cheers.
 
So, I'm 5'10" and 150 lbs. My first pair of park skis were women's LINE Shadows (163 cm). I'm probably gonna get a lot of naysayers, but I loved them. They were super light, buttery, and just fun. Great for spinning, rail swaps, etc. Of course, they are not going to be as durable or provide the stability you need on more advanced all mountain terrain. That being said, although my home resort is tiny and in the midwest, I had no problems with them out in Colorado.
 
Yeah i have extremes and through 4 years of recklessly agressive eastcoast glades, urban an park they havent gotten any scratches on the base. They weigh like 30 pounds though
 
Volkl step is the lightest ski I've ever had on my feet, and I've ridden a lot of skis. But usually light and durable don't go hand in hand. Broke them in a week
 
Scott TW Pro (or the Jibs, pretty much the same ski), and Atomic Punx are all very light weight. Those two have got to be among the lightest from the "big" companies. Not sure about Faction or any of those smaller companies.
 
Curious to know where you got this information? and i own 2013 afterbangs, so i guess the new ones might be a little different. But fuck mine are heavy.
 
A1's, halos, or moment park skis. anything narrow with rocker and early taper will feel super light because of the reduced swing weight the early taper gives.
 
my head caddys are pretty light. and there pretty durable, i have had them for a almost two seasons and I have only had one core shot and the edge has only recently started to come out (I hit mostly rails). Also the sidewall construction is maaad good. I have even flexed them out and they are a pretty fun buttery playful ski
 
Elan makes some light skis, but they aren't the most durable and don't have that hood as cred that you totally need.
 
i hope you meant the opposite of everything you just said. Elans are fucking tanks that are certainly NOT light. they kill it and are hood as fuck.

Anyway, lightest pair I have used would be the Liberty LTE. Most durable ski I have seen too. the edges do not crack because they are made specially for park. Punx aren't anything special as far as swingweight, APO's are actually pretty sick, but don't feel very light, Armada's are nothing special in any category,Moment's are decently light but i would still say the LTE is your best bet. If you want a wide, light ski then definitely look at the Icelantic lineup

Seriously though, my friend rides decently hard, but he rides year round and competes on Waterville Valley's freestyle team and he has used LTE's forever. his first pair which are like 3-4 years old are still in great fucking shape and going strong. and he has another, bigger pair taht is 2 years old that he used this year to compete with even though they are too small. He has owned this years Thall's, but they broke, he has this year's punx right now, but they are breaking, and he said he is going to get another pair of LTE's because they are so bomber and amazing for this year once the Punx break.

OP, what does that tell you?
 
These people are stupid and just saying their skis are the lightest.

Lightest skis I've felt to this day are Faction - Candide pro models specifically. His whole line of skis are this way...even his 3.0 pow ski that's pushing 150mm at the tip is lighter than tons of park skis.
 
Atomic Punx. Especially the older ones. Like 09-11 punx weigh close to nighting. Also the Urban Punx are light af with super pop and extra butter
 
I agree completely with this guy I have the LTE's and they are so light and really durable also they are very poppy and have pretty good flex in the tip and tails
 
Slingshots are incredibly light, you kidding me? I could be wrong stat-wise, but at least their price-point ski feels crazy light in how it handles. Elan has a ballin team and vibe (Laker), it just doesn't have a huge following; many people in the community may not even be aware that they put out legit park sticks
 
Faction Candide 1.0's are ridiculously light. They star off being 81mm underfoot, and then have the balsa/flax core.
 
ive riden a lot of different skis, and my current skis, faction prodigy, is by far my favorite, one thing is, they measure very short, my 178 prodigy are teh same length as 171 line chronics
 
Definitely nothing from APO those things Are like concrete. Not nordica ace of spades either I have them and they are real nice and all but they are SO heavy
 
I own both APO's and Ace of Spaces and I would definitely say that the APO's are atleast twice as lively and springy than a ski that has metal in it. I still love my AOS and they were my favorite ski that i had ever ridden (which is saying a lot), but now that I have my APO's, they have become my new favorite. Have you used APO's before or have any support to say that they are like concrete?
 
Yeah I'd say the 2013 APOs are probably a moderate to heavy park ski, but they are built to last. My Hutches are going strong after 2 seasons of constant rail abuse and rock skiing. All I do is wax and de-burr the edges every once in a while and they have developed only one edge crack from a pretty big disaster. They are certainly holding up better than my rossi scratches or line afterbangs did, and they still have pop!

The new 2014 sammy C park (cheaper cap ski) is definitely lighter and pretty snappy, but I wonder if they sacrificed durability to shed the weight and cost.

I think the APOs actually strike a good balance between durability and weight.

But as I said earlier, if weight is your main concern, go with some armada halos or line future spins or some other narrow, rockered, superlight spin to winner.

 
Again, Faction Candide 1.0's and the rest of his line are the lightest skis you will find out there.

His 1.0 park skis are 1500 grams a piece. That's no more than 7 pounds for both skis (ridiculous). Get your facts straight.
 
I have the Sammy C Pros and they are my favorite ski ever. Super lively and super poppy and durable and all around the best I've ever had. I've heard the Kai Pro is a good ski too. APO seems to have really stepped up their game since introducing skiing
 
yea I own the Kai's and they are absolutely insane for big features. Since I am not very big (135 lbs) the 177's are fucking perfect for me since they are supposed to be sort of soft for adults. I love them to death and even though I have already blown out the edge from clipping a rail twice, I can still say they are quite durable
 
Heartcarves eh? Pretty sick idea. They look like fat rockered snowblades with a shitload of sidecut. Cool they're so light for how wide those tip and tails are. I would have thought they'd be made a bit heavier for stability since they're so short and rockered out.

How do they hold up on rails?
