if im thinking of the right one, no, cr and tanner were on top with a bio 9 and a switch rodeo 7, respectively. also if im remembering correctly, i think i heard rumors that people felt mike got scored low out of skiboard hate.. dont quote me but i remember hearing that a couple times that year

yeah i probably watched forward more also. also had something to do with forward being on dvd and RFA being on VHS. pretty funny the last format change was so recent..
 
hate to break up the nostalgia, but i went against my better judgment and watched all of the entries. i was curious as to why mr. nick was so infuriated, and now i see.

out of all of the videos, the only one with any clean kangs was "jarens". this contest was not made to ridicule a glorious, glorious grab, it was made to pay homage to a beautiful thing. and you assholes just shit all over it. today was a sad, sad day for me.

i remember trying "mike nick kangs" the entire season after watching stereotype. I would kang 2 feet off the ground on a hip and ask my friend if it looked like mike nick, then he would poleplant tailgrab and ask if it looked like candide

There is a difference between acting like a gaper and Lui Kangs....and I don't think alot of the people who entered the contest realized that.
Lui Kangs in their purest form are as beautiful as a unicorn galloping through a field of wildflowers...

After looking at that first photo a couple of times, I'm going to go ahead and say that is a pretty good looking grab. I mean its similar to a Japan, but with a bit of flavor.

I kind of think someone should start doing good liu kangs again, and stop making it such a joke. Like Imagine that in a dub flat or something?

dude was one of the first few to be throwing sw9's like a boss. def one of the first people i saw doing rightside tricks too
