so pretty much i was bored as shit so i sketched some ghetto new designs with my boi lineskiaddict during class. i realize none of these skis have potential.
first off the speedbump has insane CAMBER not ROCKER the whole idea is that it would springy as shit so you could get mad boost. the only prob i see is that switch ups or spinning out the ski would catch who knows.
next is the backseat pro. basically tons of rocker plus backseat mount allows you to ride over anything especially gapers.
finally the holy ski. this i s ahomage to the line reactor where the whole ski has preloaded holes drilled in so you could mount the binders where every you want. who knows why not get hyphy with a forward mount for a day and change em later.

I've also thought about a supercambered ski. If you've ever ridden a longboard with a lot of camber you'd know it gives a really lively poppy feeling. On skis I know the design would be really hooky, so if you ever get lazy and try to wash out a turn you'll eat shit... and it would be bad in pow because the tips would be forced to dive.

i opened this thread, hoping for something cool, but as soon as a read "my boi lineskiaddict", i knew i was to be disapointed.....

looks like you got mad bored in school... but my papers always end up sketches of ski rails or brand designs

well, pretty much the speedbump already exists. go buy yourself a pair of oldschool straight skis. my dads old rossis have a shit load of camber. only trouble is that they're about 2m long and like 6cm wide

yea that would be pretty sick, but you would need a bunch of slots since ski bindings see different stresses than snowboards. Also on the EST (slots) thing I know some, well a bunch of kids who ride them and work for burton and ive seen a lot of them come loose and it seems like you would lose some response. I don't know though once its perfected it would be cool to see on skis.

ha the one with the huge camber would be fnny as fuck for a few days.. like a moving trampoline on snow!

He might have seen the on3p thing and gotten excited. Speaking of which what does this have to do with on3p?

I understand that skis cant come with a bunch of pre-drilled holes in them... but why cant you go to a shop tell them where you want your bindings, then they put threads where you normally just drill straight into the wood? I dont see a problem with this and you could use one pair of bindings with multiple skis. I dont know maybe im missing something.

The pre-drilled would never work unless it was made for a specific binding like a look or something. Those super camber skis are already made sort of. Last years thugs have mad camber, not as much as you described though. The backseat ski is already made by Icelantic. The mounts on most of their skis are super far back, ie the Shaman.

Seems like every idea you had has been taken..

extreme camber=extreme grabiness, especially switch take offs. Also dangerous for the knees(ski holds on longer in backwards twisting falls)
