Does anyone know if sunshine has a good base or not? I checked the report and it says 109cm which is measured where? the top of standish, or goats eye?
 
Dude whatever you do, do NOT listen to their website, and do NOT go. They have NO SNOW, and goats eye did NOT OPEN and it was NOT EPIC. I didn't even get like 4 runs of first tracks with no lineup before everyone else got there and tracked it out. I mean there's NOT EVEN 11 lifts open. Seriously, there is NO SNOW, especially NO POW, and it is NOT worth going. You could NOT even hit hotel drop on opening day because it was NOT deep.

AHHH dan! so sick!

Went to sunshine on Sunday, pretty sick stuff in the trees, knee to waist deep. Coverage just sucks a little bit getting to the good spots so keep your eyes peeled for rocks, got some base gouges.
 
Just want to let you guys know, that as sick sunshine must be. I have been riding whistler the past 2 weeks.

Yeah, it's been going off! Things are getting pretty tracked in spots now, but everything is still really soft and fun. The park crew is doing a great job of keeping everything rad. The mini-park is tons of fun right now. They're doing a big build in the normal park spot, look for a full park in about two weeks!
 
yeah i know, but we don't have snowmaking. SO we have to build it where it is because we have to farm snow with fences.
 
Yeah, that would be super legit. Quick park laps, tree coverage, money. The park location is pretty good though!
 
haha yea man. patroller came into top shack today and says, so the dive is open as of 10 minutes ago.

rest of the day just stood outside and watch people ski it
 
cannot wait until sunday, it'll be my first day out this season and this thread has got me even more stoked.
 
So.... you posted this on the 25th.... Any possibility of even some of the full park being open this weekend?
 
There isn't a ton of pow up there right now.

There are a few spots which are still good but it's nothing to get worked up over.

Absolutely no chance of the full park being open tomorrow.
 
to the people talking....the park is going to open soon. We have had some snags here and there, but we are getting back on track.
PS to the people talking about hotel cliffs....NODBOY this year has hit them properly at all. i have seen tons of people sideslip the snow off of it, and face plant off it, and go around it. NOBODY has actually hit them.
 
I don't know if this will work, but unless I'm mistaken this would be considered hotel cliffs?

Anyways, if it does work its at around 54 seconds. If not, that's helmet cam footage of what I would assume is hotel cliffs, because its the 35-or-so foot drop behind the hotel?

Anyways, stoked on hearing that the park is going to be up, good job on the mini park too, best mini park I've seen for sure. Puts COP's to shame hahaha.
 
does anyone know if sunshine will put any of their awesome rails up earlier this season?
did they even have the s-coaster or the double rainbow last year?
 
Yeah, that's the plan. The S-coaster will be in the park when it opens. I am not sure about the dubbow. Everything will be open soooon.
