sunshine village or Kicking Horse

I went to sunshine last christmas, fucking coldest place ever, they had a park with some tables and rails, not too bad for early season, you could also build some little bc kickers that are pretty fun, idk about kicking horse tho never been there. Louise had a sick park too, better than sunshine.

sunshine i went there like 4 years ago and it was awesome, i liked it even more than lake louise. does anyone know if they still have that stupid gondola at the bottom you have to board to go to the ski runs? that was a bitch

both have their ups and downs, sunshine is great on a powder day or a warmer day cause u can hit the little park or go into the abck and build some nice kickers,but i think KH is better, ther terrain is alot more fun to ski but they dont have a park, but u can build some crazy shit there and the snow is always good, i was there about 3 weeeks since it had last snowed and me and my buddies still found a great spot to build some jumps with waist deep pow!

Sunshine is a tight mountain, with some awesome easily accessible backcountry, but kicking horse just decimates it. Grab the reigns and hold on,........man that was actually the dumbest thing ive ever said

 
crap go to Kicking Horse, it doesnt need a park ive been there twice now (im out east) and the backcountry options are pretty much unlimited, I think they expanded again, they opened terminator ridge bowl A while back and even though its tough to get into its fucking sick! KH all the way im gonna live in golden!

its like this, if you dont want park go to KH and if you want a park still go to KH. that trail in the pic is right off the gondolla, but wasnt that much pow when I went, still best ski day of my life though.

at sunshine you need a transiever and probes and stuff to ski the good sruff, at kicking horse you just need the lift ticket

sunshine is flat for the most part and the runs are pretty short. You need to have avie gear and good weather to ski delirium dive anyway.

Kicking horse has better and more steeps than sunshine and their runs are a shitload longer. KH is also less crowded with way less anoying british tourists.

 
kh is really sick and has better terain then sunshine, sunshine has a lot of flat but it is a big hill and still a lot of fun to ski + it has a decent park and kh doesn't. if you are just visiting i'd sugest kh mos def

go to kicking horse, i ski both these places alot, especially sunshine(cause its closer) and sunshine is ok, u can hike out and find some good spots for jumps or u can go to thier little park and fool around on some of their jumps and rails. but kickinghorse has better inbound terrain and better snow, even though it doesnt have a park it is still sick, one day when i was there last year it hadnt snowed for 2 weeks and i still found waist deep pow and we made some killer bc jumps, def go to kh!

^nope I never got in shit they just asked what I was doing, I just hiked outta bounds a little bit so I could take some pictures and they didnt care, I saw people skiing outta bounds a couple times that day...no big deal but if you run into a serious patroler your pass is pulled!

^Dont judge the hill if you've been there once plus the fact that they didnt get much snow last year didnt help it...I went when the snow was shit last year and still had a blast

i've had season's passes to both mountains the last 3 years. sunshine has some amazing skiing and if people knock it then they dont know where to go, kicking horse does have great inbounds skiing and even better outta bounds skiing. what makes the horse better is the consistent steepness of the hill the only major problem i have with it is the bottom third of the mountain. sure the top is unbeatable but when you get down to the slush and have to dodge grass patches it starts to become annoying. i love the horse but sunshine is my favorite

 
I've skied at both and they are both good mountains, but KH is in my mind better and less crowded and great powder if you get there and it has snowed, it's Golden for me

Ive never been to KH but if you know where to go at sunshine it is amazing. The steeps off wawa are super fun and the park at sunshine blows away KHs park
