Sunshine rogers park update from park crew

So since the other thread is getting pretty full, im just going to keep this one running all the time. I will have some pics up with most of the posts, but for this first one im just going to talk on what we have in the park now, and whats going on for our next park build.
So everybody by now knows what features we have in the upper park, and what we are slowly putting in. The newest feature we have up is the new moto jump. It is a step up/true table hybrid. The air time is very similar to our larges, but the height is minimal. So this makes for the perfect practice jump. We have only had this jump up for a few days, and people are already throwing rodeos off it.

We have been working incredibly hard on the lower park. We are pushing snow in the cats all day, and getting some rough shapes cut out for snow. I can't tell you exactly what our plans are, but you can expect more creative features. Some new crazyness, and awesome classics returning.
Pics will be up soon.

last time i was at sunshine was at christmas break and the park was really good. next time im going there is for jib academy cause i broke my collarbone so cant ski till march

yeah, sorry about that guys. Honestly it is just so that we can rake all the features and still have time to get home at the end of the day. We have a pretty small staff for the size of park we operate. When the lower park opens ( AKA Grizzly Park) you will have another place to go while we close the upper park.

I think one of the cooler things you guys do is you actually maintain your small jumps/rails. Most hills their smalls are just mounds of snow, but you guys actually make small jumps.

so fun today! the 2nd table is amazing right now, good air time and super nice landing!cant wait to see what gets put in the bottom park!
also that new step over is fun but you should make it a bit bigger!

ye little sketch. ive just been hitting it like a butter box and its been keeping me stoked. wish the knuckle was a bit shorter so it was a big step over.

Before I say anything, I love the sunshine park and think it's so fun. Park crew is super sick and keeps everything well maintained. But why can't you guys just put in some stock features? Like a flat down box, or a flat bar, or a down box, something just generic that is trickable. The features there now are sick, but not really great for tricking.
I guess what I am trying to say is, Why the hell are you putting in another left side c box?!? Barely anyone hits the box in the top park, and there is another one going into the bottom park?
Again no hate, just some feedback that is hopefully constructive.

for the spring can you just set up like every rail you don't have set up already just in like an area so we can hike them?
does the s coaster still exists? and the double rainbow?

you've never seen me ski, so don't jump to conclusions.

End of this coming week-end. We are putting alot more stock features in the lower park.....like the flat down box, and the 20 down urban rail, the 40 down. ( ps the small 20 box, the small rail line......really great stock features that you can progress on).
The Cbow box is going in the lower park because lots of people have requested it, and its a great feature. Honestly have any of you guys hit the c-box? Don't knock it until you try it, im sure not too many of you have.
The issue with the banked S is why set up a rail that nobody is going to hit, and nobody is going to make it to the end. The issue with the double rainbow is the amount of snow that it takes for us to make that feature work.

The double rainbow was only ever good when snow wans't piled all the way up on it, it sucked when they did that. maybe one summer we could put skirts on it and set it up good again, i dont think that would take much snow would it?
And the s coaster always had people hitting it (at least in the spring) It would be nice to have it right at the bottom so you can stop and session it for awhile. It's not that hard to get to the end and when you do it feels so sick even if you didn't do a trick on it.

umm no conclusions jumped to, you prolly have a sick bag of tricks. progression can just be bagging your tricks on different unique set ups. no hate homie

Grizzly Park ( the lower park) is now OPEN!!!!!
Today was opening day, and everything is just awesome down there. The only thing that needs to be finished is the final jumps for our ultimate jump feature.
I could tell you folks whats in the bottom park, but we do not have your average set up. I will have pictures up soon.

grizz is ssssoooo dope! PS - first person to hit the gap the channel in there will receive one fist pound from me, and unlimited respect from everyone who sees how insanely gnarly that thing is.

got to ride lower park today, super fun, looking forward to hitting the jump at the bottom, me and wes are hoping to gap the channel soon, hoping for a sunny fast day!

how big is this channel gap you guys speak of? I remeber Nakiskas back in the day and that was LEGIT...

this post is rather useless as I will see it tomorrow.

from looking at it the other day i would say it is bigger than the nakiska gap, we are thing in the 65-70 foot range

any idea when the bottom jump will open?
also i was thinking you guys should fill in the channel gap right at the end so that there is a really wide landing for the final jump, as it looks right now the landing is super narrow for both sides and it would be sick to be able to carve in and land on a big wide landing. if you did that it would probably be the best jump you guys have ever built

thats what i was thinking today. you would have to be mental to hit that thing. if you didnt catch it perfect you would be fucked

hey good job on the park this year so far!
i just have a couple suggestions. you guys should make the big sides of the jumps in the top park like 15-20 feet bigger each. the speed is there which i know was a problem previous years. but we really need some big jumps. the jumps now are fun and well built just way to small for good 9s or even to do floaty 7s.
also i really think you guys should put in the roller coaster rail and the s-coaster. sure they're hard and people dont get them often, but i know i speak for everyone that i ski with when i say that they would get hit. lots. we need challenges.and the last jump in the bottom park looks kinda sketchy, fill in the gap and make a longer landing or something.

but still better than most other years. keep killin it

I agree 100%.
The lower park is super sick anyways, but the last jump really is a little whack. Boxes and rails are awesome though, and the upper park is super nice.

I definitely agree. All the rails and boxes are sick and supper fun but the jumps should be a bit bigger. Also the last jump should just be one with a good landing because at the moment you cant carve off them. Also that bumblebee coulered tube is super fun and one of the better features in the park. It would be cool to have one a little longer and more in the ground so you could come on from the sides and have more room to do tricks on it.

I think the jumps are dope the way they are. I mean the landings of the are nice and long, you can just rip in and take it deep if you want to go bigger. And the speed is there some days, but other days you have to straight line the whole line to make speed for the second kicker.
The last jump in grizz is so dope. If you are looking for a bigger jump than those in the top park, there it is. Speed is fast, but you just have to go as fast as possible and send 'er.
S and roller coaster would be sick...

The park is absolutely sick but this would make it even better.

The S is especially called for in terms of progression- it's only fair to let people have a crack at that once they've mastered the S box.

saw you guys pulling out some of the rails and boxes yesterday, any plans for new jibs or rail setups in the park? me and my buddies were thinking you should put the mailbox where the launch box is in the park, would be perfect for launching off and less sketcky than the flat box that was in there.

also good job with the jumps, so nice to have only larges and room to carve and travel in either direction, the only thing is that you could probably move the first jumps lip back a few feet to make it longer, but other than that they are super fun!

last thing, are you guys going to do anyhting with the bottom jump/hip/mini pipe thing? if you pushed the 2 sides together you could have alot bigger tabletop/hip style jump that people could either hit as a hip to either side or clean to a steeper and a little bit wider landing. just some thoughts

other than that keep up the good work! such a fun park this year!

completely agree with all these ideas.
That first jump could definitely be bigger, and I think sunshine park needs a big jump especially since it doesn't look like the money booter from last year is going to be coming. That shotgun set up would be sick as a mail box. That's what snow park had last season and it was SICK. I think the landing could be a little steeper tho.The jump at the bottom of 2nd park is fun, but it is super sketch. The landing is super narrow and you need to be going ridiculously fast to hit it. The channel gap is a sick idea, but pretty much no one hits it. So yeah, a good big true table would be radical.
But even if you don't change anything, this is still the best park I have ever seen at Sunshine, keep it up.

There really isn't speed for a big jump in the bottom park. Have you guys try to hit the tables on either side of the channel? Those are true tables and it's very hard to get speed to clear all the time.

last year the bottom jump you guys built at the end of the year was sick, you should try and replicate it, it could be a little bigger than last year even, and speed for it was perfect!

did i meet anyone their? april 10-12

i was in brown hoodiewith babie blue and white tall tee, line afterbangs, black pants.

i was with the guy in the yellow edoggo hoodie.

if i did meet you. holla at me.

thx, Ben

You should take the cat and push the park into one giant jump for may. JOI style.

or you could just give me the keys. shit will go down. I come back at the end of april.

i was clearing the bottom table/hip on thursday no problem, and i wasn't even starting from the top or tucking, if you made the jump a bit shorter with more pop and a bigger landing it would be sick!
