Help meh choose. Ill be using it for lake sailing. I can find a really new sunfish or an older hobie and i cant decide.

Well I could get like either a super new sunfish 2 older sunfishes or like a late 80's early 90's hobie

sunfishes are pretty fun and a lot cheaper than a hobie but hobies are sooo much fun. they go really really fast and are really fun when they get up on one hull. id go with the hobie if the lake has lots of wind.

SUNFISH, i have my own and i was just sailing yesterday and it was awesome, when the wind gets rippen it they can go pretty fast.u wont regret getting one

if you're getting a Hobie, the only good one is a 16ft catamaran, my family owns one and it is the fucking fastest boat i've ever sailed, idk what it is about it but the thing rips with not a ton of wind, best boat ever, i had a sick sail on it last weekend actuallyit's pretty easy to sail also, with 1 person it's a bit tough because you need someone to do mainsail, tiller, and jib, but with 2 it's super fun

hobie ftwm

Is it even a competition? 1 boat has a trampoline built in!

Plus you can bring more people on a hobie.

Just make sure it has decent condition sails.

hobie...or look for a used 420 or laser or cl14...sunfish are wayyy too small, especially if you want to bring a lady along

i'd say it depends on the size of your lake, and if you want to bring it other places.sunfish are fun, good on small lakes, super portable, and easy to set up and sailhobies are fast as hell, and a little bit trickier to sail

I think I have decide on the hobie. The only reason I wouldnt go with a laser of cl14 is becuase we already own a lido 14 that we are restoring. We bought it from a friend of a friend for 50 dollars. It was filled with water and rotting. By some miracle all the original sail and most lines survived except for the spinnaker. So far we have replaced the transom and mostly rebuilt the dagger board.
